lol... hell no it isn't worth the money, unless you buy it used then it could be a nice option if it works right.

well definately pretty good as my stock internal l98 with a few bolt ons and full exhaust could only hit 13.7 with 1.8 60's

Kandied,
It sounds to me like you had some other unknown problem with your setup. The slowest ive ever gone with the miniram is 13.36 with a 2.0 60ft. That is with the exhaust i already posted and im sure yours was better than mine.

well i had it on 3 different motor combinations so i suppose it was just a luck of the draw.

good luck with one if any of you buy it as there are plenty of threads and posts on this site alone to warn you but there are still enough posts and theads of people having luck to make many take a chance.

it's your money, roll the dice...

That's why I recommended that a friend of mine do the LT1 intake instead of the mini-ram. It's just so expensive, most people can't afford it.

I hear alot of talk with the smog issues...
Yet I thought the EGR can be dissabled in the prom...and most cars can pass with no EGR especially since now in Maryland(I live)
that the new emissions they just hook up a connector to your computer port and if everything checks out your fine...I thought they were fazing out the tailpipe test.
Anyway I thought Traxion passed the Maryland emmisions tailpipe test with his Mini-ram setup through good prom tuning..
And Maryland emissions are pretty strict I belive...(although I got my bolt-on 88 T/A to get the fast pass!)
I could understand if they check under the hood...though Maryland does not do that..or at least never checked under my hood

The "key" is where you live. If the intake MUST be CARB or EO approved, then the Miniram won't work.

But, for Maryland, you are very correct. Tim did pass Maryland's emission testing with good eprom tuning and cats.

Some states check whats under the hood, and unless you're in Cali... most of the time they don't know what they are looking for.

Counties have different ways of checking too, I've been told.

I know in WA they don't check for NOx(EGR emissions). But over in Oregon they do. They also drive the cars very differently. In WA you drive it youself at Idle, and at 25mph. In Oregon, a DEQ guy drives it, and speeds it up to 25 and engine brakes, 5 times like that. SO if you have a stick it can really skew the results by how they do it. Check your DEQ requirements. And check to see what some others are. It's all relative to where you live! GOOD LUCK!

And in BC, you are subject to emissions in the Lower Mainland, but no where else.

In BC, they do an inspection under the hood, but it is more for gas leaks than equipment.

If you are subject to emissions in BC, they have a "reading" you must meet. Doesn't matter what equipment you specifically have, you just have to meet your HC, CO & NOx at the idle and 40 km/h (25 mph) limits for your particular car. And THEY sit in the car and do the test. The owner must get out of the car and sit in another room while they perform the tests.

Yes i believe tim did pass, but it took alot of work to get the tuning right for it to pass. I believe it was running fairly lean and timing was extreme conservative. He did manage to pull it off but i also believe it was with his 218/224 cam and not his Lethal EFI cam.

Nope, it was his custom cam. The cam specifics are a secret but as I recall it was close to 240/244 @.050 duration, high lift and less than 110* LSA.

Here is a excellent Miniram article written by TRAXION.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/af...rying-set.html (TPIS MiniRam ... trying to set the record straight)

Kandied91z, I wonder if you were having early MR III issues? Wasent the MR III like bran new back then? Just wondering?

I love my Miniram and wont go back!! The one thing I HATED about my Edelbrock base/LTR, SLP cam was that my LT1 buddies with a few bolt ons would walk away from me! I thought I would be able to keep up with them, but nope! I would usually beat them to 40 mph then it was all over. LOL. Once I got my MR, Trickflow heads, ZZ9 cam combo up and running, I beacame a "comeback king" I would now chase THEM down and catch them! I bracket raced for the first time with that set up and WON! (had a auto back then) It seemed like I could always catch and pass the other guy. I LOVE that!!

I've got a MR and I am happy with it's performance. The only thing I regret is that I bought mine new before becoming a member of TGO. I would buy a used one for sure. I've seen some great deals on MR sent-ups on this forum.
