Has anyone tried this inline pump?
Its at www.summitracing.com with part number MSD-2225.
It says up to 80PSI and 43 GPH, I am just thinking about using it for a Carb to TPI swap (Because it is crazy cheap), but I would like to hear some feed back on the pump, or pumps in general.
(I dont want to hear keep the carb over TPI either, this is not what the post is about.)
Forgive my lack of knowledge, but would this allow me to eliminate my in-tank fuel pump? That would rock - I've already spent $500 on one pump replacement, and I'd rather not go through that again.

This is nothing more than a guess, but it seems to me that the fuel pump itself does nothing more than pump fuel and would therefore have a negligible effect on fuel economy.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong - this is an interesting question.
it would remain the same as far as your mpg goes and yes you can use this pump in the place of the stock pump in the tank like i did. make it a lot easier when it come to changing it.
What do you do with the in tank fuel pump if you installed the msd inline pump? Do you have to take the one out of the tank and install a catch or can you just install the inline and don't worry about the intank pump? Forgive me if its a stupid question but I really don't know.
Thanks for all the replies guys, I think I will order this pump sometime next week.
Just two more quick questions; because it is an 80PSI pump, can the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail for the TPI hold it at its steady 44 PSI(or whatever it is), or should I also get a AFPR?
Oh, and does it matter that it is 5/16 input, 3/8 output? I am assuming it flows more gph then the stock pump anyway so it shouldn't matter.
Some people have problems with hooking a inline pump up and keeping the stock pump in the tank, the stock pump will sometimes act as a restriction, you will just have to try and see how it works. I would NEVER NEVER run a inline pump because all the ones I've heard make a LOT of noise.
That is the pump I've been running for 2 years now without a problem in my TPI equiped ElCamino. It is a little on the loud side but I got used to it after a few weeks, mounting it on rubber pedastals helped a little. For me the stock regulator has been working great. I am going to get an intake pump and sender when I can find one on the cheap side.
I'm running that pump with my recent EFI conversion as well. So far I've been quite pleased with it. My car was originally carbeurated so I'm just pulling through the factory in-tank filter sock (that I'm assuming is still there lol) and then I plumbed in a factory 3rd gen EFI fuel filter so it's an easy swap out part if/ when I need it. The pump is a little loud as eric305tpi said, but it's quite livable. It's funny actually, I helped my friend with a tpi conversion on his '87 El Camino and he went with an in-tank pump and if our cars are running side by side and you're standing behind them, you can hear my exhaust (American Thunder) and his fuel pump. If they're shut off though his fuel pump is quieter than mine. Just a funny tidbit. Anyway, with that said, yeah that pump seems to be a good deal, and I've been happy with it so far! Here's a pic of my install:
