Autopower roll bars anyone?

I was wondering if anyone has used or known anyone that used an Autopower roll bar. I am thinking of getting one, especially due to the fact of where the back bars mount (at the wheel wells).... That way I can still take my t-tops off and be able to strap them in. Here is a link.. I am leaning toward the street sport bar

I cant tell from the ad, but do you have to bend the tube yourself, or is it shipped that way?

You just take them out of the box and bolt them together. I had a friend that had one in his Mustang. He had it powdercoated with that "chrome" powdercoat and it looked sweet. I want to do the same. No welding required unless you just want to.

a bolt in cage sounds as useless as an electric supercharger or those $20 mod chips. No track will accept a bolt in cage as acceptable.

i too have been looking at these bolt in cages. i am just looking stiffen up the ole ttop camaro. i already have sfc/stb on the car. it is a street car so i have no need to pass a tech at the drag strip. i am sure there are some pics floating around on the net with a 3rd gen and the autopower. i have searched but came up with just ads.
although i am going to put a s$w cage in my "fast camaro". as soon as i get it up and going.

I dont have a 10 sec car, so it doesnt matter. It is for chassis stiffening and looks, so I guess its not that useless...

Get a good set of SFC's then and call it done. They will stiffen the car 10x more than a 'bolt in cage' will.

And a cage is not intended for looks, and stiffening is it's secondary use, the main reason to purchase a cage is safty, and a bolt in one, adds NONE.

i have welded CE SFC's in my 79 TA
and that made a huge difference
bolted in the CE 4 point roll bar
and it made it even tighter and sturdier

If you are like me, and don't plan on mega power, but want to strengthen the chasis, especially a T top car, it is WELL worth it

some people had photos on here with that bar, and it looked sweet

i want to get it for her car, but funds are low

you can eventually tack weld it in if you want
but the bolt in makes it so much easier

i agree if you are going for track racing and higher HP, i'd consider something else

but, SFC's, steering brace, chassis brace, and STB will also make a world of difference.

I agree. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though. This is the 11th Camaro I have owned, so I have had just a l;ittle experience with them... lol... SFCs add stiffness, and bolt in roll bar (notice I said roll bar, not cage) adds more chassis rigidy... I have t-tops so I want both.
