Hawk Pads HB119Z.594

I just installed some ceramic pads upfront on my 88 Camaro, Hawk Performance Pads HB119Z.594. So far, the pads don't brake as well as the el-cheap carbon-metallics from AutoZone, but I don't expect them to. I've noticed under hard braking that I can smell a chalky smell, almost tasting it in my mouth even. They don't fade either, which is nice. I bought them for low-dust purposes only, performance not being a consideration. I bought them from Summit for about $62 + $5 s&h ($67 total). To me, they're worth it b/c they'll keep my rims from getting black.

DUDE... dont worry, it took about 2 days for my Hawk ceramic pads to seat good. I went with the power slot front rotors and brembo factory replacement rear rotors. After driving I was like, "this F'ing blows" after a couple days they were really grabbing good. Just give it some time, or go drive around in the city a little.

cool, that's good news. actually, yesterday i went for a drive to break them in some more (and i was bored out of my friggin mind!!). i could tell that the brakes were starting to come in a little more. also, when i first went for a ride after installing them, i had 2 other peeps in the car with me, lol. i can't really expect my car to brake too well with a total of 3 people in the car.

just wait until they seat all the way. You'll be able to put people thru the windshield. And you can brake check tailgaters... LOL
