Kumo 712's or dunlop sp 5000's?

I was supposed to get some 245/45/17 dunlop sp5000 on my 91 RS today, however the tires are back ordered...he recommended the kumo 712's said he can get them for me at the same price, theyll last as long, and are great performers....anyone have any comments? I need tires, so as long as the kumos are good i need to get them. Thanks for the help

I have a set of the Kumho Ecsta 712's on mine, and I really like them.At first I was doubtful, but at the time,I needed a whole new set of 17",and I only had so much money at the time. But so far they have really impressed me for low amount of money I payed for them.I can grip corners and launch on these tires about as well as I did on my last set of Dunlop 5000's.The ONLY complaint I have for the Kumhos,is that they don't seem to be lasting quite as long as the Dunlops I had on there before. But other than that,I really like them, plus I think the tread pattern is kinda cool.

I just bought a set of Potenza RE-71 directional tires for the front of my camaro. I paid around $235 for the pair.I work at a tire shop so i got a discount though. I am running 245/40/17 on the front and 275/40/17 on the rear. I noticed a big difference in the ride going to the potenza's. I had 15x8 centerlines with firehawks(225/60/15) all the way around and it handled like ****! I got a set of 17x10 for the rear and 17x8 for the front. I am currently running BFG CompTa ZR's on the rear and i am getting no traction at all. I ordered some RE-71's for the rear so that should make an even bigger difference on my handling.
