hey this a wayyyyyy old post, but itll do, does anybody know if you can use a megashifter thats made for a 3rd gen if you have the 4th gen console? id like to get one but not sure if i can use it.. if it was discussed in this thread sorry cause i didnt read all 3 pages.. thanks in advance.
Don't know what or how you guys installed yours but got a 84 ta with b&m reverse pattern valve body with ratchet shifter installed by me in 86 and have had not problem one with it. I use it on the track and the street, manual shift only. The best shifter for all around use 'cause it is usuable for both stock and reverse pattern trans. Put a little lube on mechanism once a year and don't F#*%K with it.
I have a problem. Has anyone put the mega shifter in a manual car? the instuctions say to mount the rear bracket to the body then mark the holes for the front but there is no place to mount the rear bracket. Is there a plate to cover the manual shifter hole for the auto or what? thanks for the help.
I don't think there are any companies that make a plate to cover the hole in your tunnel. You are more than likely going to have make something yourself.

I guess you converted to an auto tranny? I'd just cut a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole and weld it in, or if you want a removable cover just use sheet metal screws to secure it.
I bought my 92 camaro rs 305 with a b and m shifter, however I have no indicator therefor I haven't taken the risk of shifting manual, all I know is park, reverse and neutral, can somebody explain how u go through the gears and how you downshift? Haven't really been willing to risk experimenting without an indicator lol, but do want to.
