Sit infront of your PC with this site open and read as much as you can! That is all there is to it. After you have logged on a soid 10 hrs or so, you might be ready to start asking a few specific questions, also you might know how much $ you have to toss at the car. Once you have done all that. Anyone on here will be more than willing to to help you through any install, mod, upgrade, or custom anything you ever want to do.

I currently have a 500 hp, 6 speed camaro with a lot or N20 on top of that. Check out my CD site for starters too. You will learn a lot more from reading that typing up a new thread and hoping the info will fall in your lap.

Baroner,

First.........welcome to the site. I agree with Dennis. You need to read and make notes. I have done a LOT of copying and pasting to get notes to refer back to. You need to read and learn. You also need to know the specifics of your car before you should ask questions. There is a BIG difference between what you can do with a 305 TPI and a 305 TBI. Know what you have and look for what you need. Good luck..........

hello, il give you something to ponder. cars are not cheep. you pay to play with cars my friend. i started the same as you, trying to keep a budget car, well my friends, im down $2000 and i dont even have a part on my car yet, they are all being finished to my likeing. when summer hits il probably be pushing 400+ hp with a bit more time and cash. anywho i agree with the everyone elce here, read, and watch. great site here, but people cant help you very much if you dont explain. no one is in your garage looking at your car with you so you got to give every detail. i learned that to in my first 20 posts . anywho to get started, with a budget of around 300-500 bucks, start simple. upgrade coil, wires, plugs, cap roter. then afpr (adjustable fuel presure regulator) should give you some more punch. coolent by pass. custom cold air intake with k&N. local exhaust shop would do a 3.5 inch for around 50 bucks plus a K&N for around 60. porting is key for the plenum. egr stuff could go. then try some headers and exhaust. i may be pushing more than 500 bucks there but its a start.
