Cool! How did you get them to do that? And are those real 3.73's or are they 3.70's like everyone else?

Well, I'm glad to see any new suppliers stocking parts, but those prices are pretty stiff.

Obviously, he's setting his prices by demand, not cost+profit margin. It's the only thing that would explain 3.42s costing 150.00 more than 3.73s.

Description List price USD

3.23 Ratio CWP $312.12

3.45 Ratio CWP $450.77

3.73 Ratio CWP $304.50

3.91 Ratio CWP $355.19

4.10 Ratio CWP $414.15

I am not sure....but that was my hope since I desperately need cones as well. They stated they will be adding more goodies after christmas. If it turns out they are not including cones with the "goodies", then we can request them to. They were quick to add the gearsets for me.

I needed to change my carrier when I went from the 2.77 to the 3.27 gears. Unless they make a thicker ring gear, you will need to do the same.

Ok i suppose you did get a complete new posi ?
Where did you get it was it from one of the companys mentioned above ?
Sorry questions i am not that used to the 9bolt as i have just bought the car earlier did have a 2gen and those 8.5 did have the same carrier all the way from 2.73 and up.
Would really love to go to a 3.27/3.42 gearing something.

Just recieved a response from midwest.....

Yes they will be carrying some items for the limited slip units. They will be talking with their australian supplier on Jan 11th.
It is anticipated that we will see rebuild kits and complete new posi units.....awesome.

This is like a dream come true! All we need now is posi cones, carriers and axles and we can totally rebuild everything starting with the case. I've been searching for 9 bolt parts for 2 years now! Got a used 3 series carrier on Ebay for $150 and was considering 3.70 gears because that was all that was available. Now I have options. If I knew how hard this was going to be I would have taken better care of the original diff! Anyone got a source for axles? Thanks to Midwest PD for taking care of this splinter of the market!

I'm beginning to think the purchase of my 9 bolt in fact was a mistake, perhaps I should've put the money into adapting a 9in to fit my car. Don't the GTO's have the same ring and pinion as our 3rd gens? How about the new Pontiac G8 and the other Holden cars? I just don't understand why if these parts are still used in production cars, they're so expensive.

Eagle
moser sells custom made axles for the 9 bolt. i emailed them a few weeks ago on the subject. They have all the dimensions to make the axles. they claim they are 30% stronger then stock. they are 325 for a pair.

Found a place that lists complete NEW 3 series posi units for the 9 bolt.
Does not list the price so don't know how much we'll be set back.

I'm sure it's more than I want to spend, guessing around $700.00, thats what they're selling for elsewhere.

WOOHOO!

www.midwestpd.com
3.23 through 4.10's now available! Install kits now available! Prices listed!

I'll be ordering some 4.10's in January
I have emailed Midwestpd.com several times over the past 2 months about what happened to the 9 bolt parts they got us excited about. I never got any replies at all. I wish they would let us know what is going on and give me (us) an explanation of what happened.

Can you say that post 10 of this very thread told you I had stickied this information? Can you say it has been a sticky with other B/W 9 bolt information for over 2 years?

Seriously, here you go: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/af...er-9-bolt.html (Borg-Warner 9 bolt links inside here…)
