TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

Anyone here ever used one of these? Maybe some of the 700r4 experts might mention if its a good idea or not.

That's awesome, I like the idea. I doubt many people have used that seeing as how new it is.

Re: TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

Summit is selling it for not a bad price. Its a little over $200 which is good for a new valve body. Im thinking of getting one instead of a shift kit and just plan on just updating the servo.

Re: TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

As Pro Built said in the other thread, constant pressure is a bad idea. B&M and TCI have been pushed along by mail order companies and magazines. They really don't have a clue how to build a decent later model trans. TCI has just recently come out with an improved input drum and reaction shell. Anyone who has played with a 700 knows that the reaction shell is one of the first problems.

Look at it this way, according to hot rod mag a 700 is only good for 450hp, yet there's guys running in the 10's on them with no problems, and guys like me running blown big blocks in front of them with no problems. I also have a couple in HD towing situations with no problems in over 30k miles. If you want to learn about 700's, problems and solutions, look at Pro Built and PATC (raptor). There's a reason they're the only two companies myself and many others trust.

Re: TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

Have thousands of miles on my new TCI constant pressure valve body 700R4 and 425hp with 3.73 and have the smoothest shifting and quietest tranny I have ever had from a speed shop, CRT, Bowtie Overdrive and TCI old model. Best ever by a big margin (so far). It seams every time someone comes out with a new and maybe better mouse trap every body puts on the defence and negitive jacket. Just maybe it is modified and just maybe it is a real fix to the biggest problem 700R4's have is the TV cable adjustment for the correct pressure, 9 out 10 trannies fail due to TV improper install and adjustment by experts and 1st timers. I am not a tranny guy but do everything else and am not on my first time around the block.

Oh ya if you negitives know so much why are you not the president of "THE PERFECT TRANNY COMPANY" and set for life as you must know the sercret to this tranny thing.

Re: TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

How do "smooth shifting" and "constant pressure" go together?

Re: TCI 700R4 Constant Pressure Valve Body

That's where the experts come in, this trans has a real postive shift without the firm snap it only gets harder if you put heat to it normal and all call it frim driving it is way less then any of my last 4 700's. Jump on it and it is considerably firmer. I hope this constant pressure is real and long lasting and the tranny does not dump at 15k miles we will see I run with two others cars with the street fighter and one with super streetfighter from almost new to half my mileage. The super shifts much firmer and he has 550HP BB. Time will tell but for now I am very happy.

My LS1 swapped GTA has one in the 700r4. Hopefully I'll have positive results come summer.
