I have to replace my ignition module. Are there any recomendations on which brand to use? I see a wide range of prices on Summit and other parts depots. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with anything specific? I am eyeballing the Pertronix unit right now.

Go with the GM Delco version ONLY.

Where's the best place to get a Delco besides the dealership? The stealership wants over $300 for it when the aftermarket ones are running no higher than $80.

If you are referring to the ignition module inside the distributor, Rally Chevrolet in Palmdale, Ca. has them in stock for $98.16 + tax.

If you want the ignition module in the dist. Look around for a local parts dealer that handles AC Delco buy it there or look online. I paid $60.00 for mine at a local place. DON'T buy aftermarket on this part I had ACCEL it didn't last long & took out the pickup coil in the dist. along with it when it went. It left me stranded at a car show!!!!

My Accel lasted all of two months and was the only time the car has ever left me stranded. IMO--If you can buy it over the counter at Advance or AutoZone, its not going on my car

Borg Warner select isn't a bad way to go either the HEI 4 pin is PN# CBE4

I've used aftermarket ones with few problems, BUT I do use the real heat sink past instead of the crap they give you with the module. Wells SL-203 I think, a search should bring it up with my name. DO NOT use di-electric grease.

I'm using the di-electric grease that came in the packet with my Neihoff brand module. It's still running a year later. Still gooey too. I was gonna use some Arctic Silver 5, but I lost my tube somewhere since my computer building days. Can't beat that AS5. Anyways, I've had good luck with Neihoff parts. Only had one bad part, and I think that was because it was shipped loose in a box and rattled it apart.
