Walbro GSS340 fuel pump and hotwire kit from Racetronix
I thought my fuel pump may be going so i decided it was time to upgrade. After many referals to Racetronix for their Walbro pump i decided to purchase their base kit which includes the big GSS340 fuel pump and their hot wire alternator hookup wiring harness. Their have been many 'china' made immitation walbros and Racetronix is the place to get the REAL DEAL
The point of the wiring harness is to run more volts to the fuel pump. Complete kit that mounts to existing bolts on the frame and alternator. Comes with everythign you need. Truely a plug and play unit. My Tunerpro logs shows 13.9 volts at pump which is just abit more than stock was which was low 13's. so it worked abit but not like what they have pictured on their site which is 14.5 volts at pump. Oh well, not a big deal. my battery voltage is low anyway.
The pump was very easy to install and came with everything you need. new o-ring, new pump, new filter bag, new covering sleeve for the pump, and piece of hose to get rid of the pulsator thing in the stock tank.
Pump is quiet when you turn on the key, you can barely hear it while my stock pump screamed when it pressurized up on key-on
So far the car runs fine even tho my fuel pressure increased which i expected with a higher volume pump.. i readjusted my regulator to compensate and now everything is fine. Car runs good so far
Re: Walbro GSS340 fuel pump and hotwire kit from Racetronix
175.99 shipped from canada. it was 16 dollars shipping with no options for overnight or w/e. alittle steep on shipping since its such a light box that probly would have cost less than 5 bucks to ship out thru the post office but maybe the extra charge was because it was coming out of canada? i dont know
Although the harness isnt necessarily needed, its a nice feature to have. Ensures you get high voltage to the pump for best fuel volume. And if you want to upgrade down the road to a fuel pump booster if you got a hot combo for 700whp, you can add on to the supplied connector.

Good to hear. The extra shipping is probably just what you said...because it comes from canada.
As for the harness, I think that all us thirdgen'ers can benefit from it. Over 20 years of weather and use causes the wiring to become sort of shady. I wasnt getting nearly as much power to my pump as I should have when I was running TPI still.
Even now with my LS swap Im not getting full juice back there. Im thinking its due to the fact that I spliced/soldered parts of the harness that goes back to the pump. So Im going to racetronix just for the harness for now.

For 88 and up yes, 87 and earlier you have to be creative in alt. connections and fuse mounting but it's not a big deal.

Check it at the pump. It should be more accurate. My TP shows 14, but again this comes from the same place as before on the stock harness so really the only difference with the voltage reading would be that there is no draw from the pump itself anymore on that circuit. That circuit only powers the new relay at the back. The pump voltage comes from the new wire direct off the alt.
