ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

Hi there again

thinking of getting new sparkplugs. Read some post about it and thought I just dubbelcheck here

these ones are very good right ? : http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

also getting edelbrock high-flo tpi with runners and edelbrock tes headers. with new holley adj. fuelpressure regulator (the one that can be changed by hand )
and some new MSD 90degree sparkplugwires and some other good stuff

thoose sparkplugs will work good to that setup ?

Last time I used them was in a beretta, and 3 sets all fouled within 2000 miles, never had a problem with any other brand in the car

Re: ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

I mean for our cars the regular delcos work the best, you could go a step colder if you wanted to. I put NGK TR55's in my car and they work real good, they are a little shorter than the delcos to clear my headers. If i had manifolds id put the standard delcos in but probably a step colder plug. The standard gap for them is .035 but gap them to .040 definetly.

Re: ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

Yeah, I always used the R45TS in my IROCZ, no other brand then AC Delco spark plugs, just becuase these cars are really sensitive to other brands... dont know why but I know alot of peoples that tried other brands like champion, ngk and so.. didnt run clean and smooth, changed back to Delco and their car runned like a dream again...

Just thought that there was any better Ac delco plugs than 45TS..
will order 8 R45TS from summit later then

thanks alot

Re: ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

Well for one Platinum plugs are junk for our cars. Platinum of any plug wont work as well as good copper plugs because copper conducts electricity much better than platinum. The only plus side of platinum is they last longer but at the cost of performance. I have used NGK V power plugs and my car runs excellent and I know alot of other people on here use NGK and swear by them too. Stay away from platinum.

when working at a dealership we had 20 s10s all in with cold miss, did all kinds of stuff, changed plugs to autolite, and it was fixed, sent the delco plugs off, and all were different heat ranges, the quality control is not very good

Maybe R44TS plugs then? Instead of R45TS, for one step colder maybe?

Re: ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

stick with what they call for, the heat range was all over the place (the issue may have been corrected by now also, this was just after GM sold delco so I assume suppliers have changed since then, just one of those after having a major issue with a brand you don't go back things)

Re: ACDelco RAPIDFIRE Performance Platinum Spark Plugs

I just looked my 87 GTA up. My F Engine Code (350 TPI-L98) calls for R43s, not 45s...

'8' code for 43s....
'H' code for 45s....
'S' code for 42s....
