Car: 89 TA Engine: 305 TBI Transmission: 700R4 Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 3.08 | Retrotek Stage II EMS I was leafing through Peterson's 4X4 Off-Road (Jan. 08, pg 101) and stumbled upon something interesting: fuel injection that tunes itself. Interested, I followed the name (Retrotek) and found this expensive but interesting item http://www.retrotekspeed.com/product...ge-ii-ems.html . Am I confused, or can this be plugged into virtually any TBI or Multi-port injection engine and program itself? Does anybody know anything else about this/tried it? Or are there other products like it?
I am intrigued, it sounds incredibly useful to someone who constantly screws with their engine. Or who doesn't wanna drop $500+ on a laptop, $200+ on tuning equpiment and chips, spend months learning how do mediocre engine tuning (that's how it'd end up with me, NOTHING directed towards ANYBODY else) to spend however long finally getting their engine tuned right (just before they end up changing the engine again), or is just lazy (me).
Sorry about all that, but I wanna hear about this neat-o thingy, not the wonderful world of self-tuning. | | | |
