ticking from crane afpr???

hey guys i installed a crane adjsutable fuel pressure regulator

also new regulator diaphram.

i also installed new ford 19lb injectors for my 1986 305 5.0 v8 engine

i get this ticking sound and its not my lifters

i thought it was my injectors but after touching the fuel regulator it seems to be ticking there

now could it be because theres a little coin plate inside against a screw that adjusts the pressure against the spring inside and when the car is on the pressure maybe flucuates to a point where the spring inside and bouncing back n forth between the plate and the screw and thats where i get my ticking sound?

and if so is it ok? has anyone else experienced this?

please give your info thanks

and the car runs fine so its not hurting my performance just annoying and i want to make sure its not something wrong.

Re: ticking from crane afpr???

Check your other thread. Its pretty normal sound they make. Got the same in my accel injectors.. and some little clicking from the HOLLEY afpr..

So I wouldnt worry if the fuelpressure is stable and not jumping around..

Re: ticking from crane afpr???

I have the crane afpr and ford 19lb injectors in my 88 Camaro TPI also. The ticking is insane loud. I just got out of the gargage trying to finalize where the sound is coming from and from what I can tell it is the afpr and not the injectors.

I am so sick of it I am going to try a Holley one to see if it is a little quieter then the crane.
