Hurst Dual Gate shifter
Just to get a better understanding the purpose of this is to basically be able to shift through the gears like a manual in an automatic correct??? Isnt that hard on the auto tranny?
if its not hard on the tranny and you can run through the gears at your own leisure isnt this a great addition??

Re: Hurst Dual Gate shifter
you can get full manual valve bodys, im not very familar with transmissions but alot of racers run those, or trans brake valve bodys with manual shift

Re: Hurst Dual Gate shifter
the valve body is what controls the shifting of an auto trans by directing fluid around, a full manual valve body directs it so you have to shift it like a manual without a clutch, the trans wont shift automaticaly anymore

Re: Hurst Dual Gate shifter
ok well it was my understanding with the hurst you still got the "normal automatic shifting" as an option....
The megashifter has a "d" on it would that be the drive operation with normal auto shifting

word. all it is is a ratchet shifter. You're not doing anything to the trans internals

yeah, or 4 gear. whichever you prefer to say, Go get yourself a Transgo Shift Kit and you will have full automatic and manual control. The transgo kit allows you to shift instantaneously to any gear you want at any RPM so be carefully!

Re: Hurst Dual Gate shifter
lol i was refering to the comment about hurting the trans by shifting manually, just letting you know people modify it for that all the time
