Do any of you know where a good place to buy some nice white face gauges would be? I've checked eBay and the only thing people have up for a third gen T/A are just liners to go over your current gauges.
I'm kind of looking to replace all the gauges in my dash (Speedo, Tach, Fuel, Volt, Engine Temp, etc.) with white face gauges that will glow a blu-ish tint when lit up at night. My current gauges don't light up whatsoever, so anything is an improvement, but I would like to know what advice the third gen owner population has to offer.
Well i do not know of anyone who offers the gauge replacements unless you are wanting to get rid of the cluster that you have and use a/m. I have the white inlays in my camaro and its looks good. They are pretty cheap to. Try it out and if you dont like them replace them.
Look for the "glow" type overlays then. I had the "glow" type in my S-10. They can look good if done right. In my Camaro I just have plain white overlays with Amber LED lighting. Looks pretty good, but the Amber is not as bright as the red LEDs, but I just didn't the red LEDS, so I live with the dimmer, yet still readable, Amber LEDs. I don't know if LEDs will work in your cluster or not.
When I bought them for my S-10, they only had green to blue adjustable, you mount a knob in your car and turning the knob changed the color. I'm not sure if they offer more colors now, but no way would I have them in a 3rd gen. IMO, they look out of place. On an S-10 with them set blue, it was ok. But I do have to say they look perfectly in place on a Civic with a fart can muffler and huge tach mounted on the dash.
I would clean up what you have, carefully take you guages out, maybe take them apart and clean them, then replace the bulbs with new ones.
Thanks guys, I had several burnt up bulbs, replaced em and they work great now, but is there a way that I can still make it glow a blue color? Maybe blue bulbs or blue overlays on my current bulbs?

These guys have a real nice set up. They are white faced, are reverse glow at night. Instead of glowing the whole gauge, they only light up the numbers in them. I wish they had these for camaros other then 90-92.

I have those exact glow gauges off ebay. They are of excellent quality, but they do have one serious flaw which is the lip where the wire joins the face that overhangs the edge of the gauge. Be prepared to take a dremel tool and take a chunk out of each gauge for the faces to fit properly.
Another problem is adhering the faces to the gauges. The guide says use double sided tape, but after a few weeks the tape will loose It's hold and the gauge starts the lift causing the needle to stick. After about 7 times of taking the cluster apart and putting it back together, the solder joints of the am-meter gave out (I had previously repaired these same joints after they gave out the first time) and now that one does not light up at all. I got so sick of taking the cluster apart that I have now resorted to just tapping the bezel to get the needles to move. I think when I get a couple extra bucks I might try them one more time, as a solution until I get the autometer gauges.
So I will say, if you can find a proper adhesive, go for it. They are a good and cheap dress up kit, but a HUGE PITA!
Also, if you decide to use these overlays here is a tip. There is a lead down on the fuse block that is tied in with the parking lights. I cut a blade fuse in half the soldered the makeshit plug to the inverter, and now the overlays turn on and off with my parking lights. I then grounded the inverter to the chassis. The one drawback of course, is that you have to install a seperate in-line fuse for the inverter but even if you don't (I didn') a $40 part is nothing to be TOO mad about if it gets fried somehow.
