I picked up my new AFR 195 Competition heads and had them flowed. These are the upgraded version of the new AFR 195 Eliminator heads. These heads are actually based on the 210cc series heads. They come with a 2.08" intake valve versus the 2.05 intake valve on the Eliminator heads. Here are the real flow numbers. This is with a 4.060" flow bench plate which is the same bore that I will be using on my new Dart short block.
I think these heads will flat get it done. They just kill my current Dart Pro One 200cc heads.

Then the next mod will be the TCI controller and the 4L60E transmission. At the same time the new AFR 195 Competition heads will be installed. Then with any luck a 11.99 time slip.

i can tell you that my afr 210 eleminator heads picked up my s10 .5 sec over a set of edelbrock vr jrs. both out of the box. and on spray was .7 sec faster with 25 less shot of spray.
That is a pretty good increase. I was just reading a post over on the Corvette forum and he put down some real good numbers with the AFR 210 Eliminator heads. Looks like these heads are best thing going.
I was down at Dyno Don's shop yesterday with one of my cylinder heads. We tried a stock valve cover on it to see if it would fit. Apparently AFR has changed their CNC program as the stock style valve cover now fits the head.
However beware that the accessory bolt holes in the front are still 1/4" short. Also the valve cover center bolts are also around a 1/4" short. So you will either have to cut off your current bolts or buy new ones. This is the same for the standard Eliminator head.

No they are not ported. They were flowed as they came out of the box. Remember these are the AFR 195 Competition heads not the standard AFR 195 Eliminator heads. For example these heads have the 2.08" intake valve versus the 2.05" intake valve in your heads.
One of our club members bought the same heads you have and had them flowed. They were a little more than what AFR advertised.
I read your post. What most people do when flowing a head is replace the standard valve springs with a light weight spring that is easier to open.

After I found out that the oil leak I had was not from the valve cover(s),I'm not so sure there was a fitment issue with the stock valve covers & Eliminator heads. Not 100% sure, though. -Bill

I am 100% sure, as I tried 12 different covers on those heads and only two would fit.
Anyway, very nice numbers from those heads.. i kinda wish i would have went with 210's but i havent fully tested teh 195's yet but so far the car feels strong now that i'm getting the air fuel ratio at WOT much closer to what it will be
Are you planning on doing another cam or will you stick with what you have? you have enough lift on it to take advantage of the 210's? I thought you had something like 570's on the lift with a 1.6. Thats great but more could be better
Since people will search and find this thread I figured I would post my AFR results.
195 Eliminators out of the box part #1040. Matched with Comp XE-284E Flat Tapped cam. This thing runs like a beast and even know I haven't compared them to anything I am 100% satisfied. It runs on 93 Octane and fires up like it's fuel injected.
Customer service is informative as well. Tony Mano is the guys name.
I'm going to stick with my camshaft but increase the rocker ratio to 1.65. This will of course increase the lift and also in effect increase the duration off the seat.
By the way the part number for the AFR heads is 1095.
we have a set of 195's the street version with some "minor" and I mean minor! clean up work that are flowing 318int max and 240 exh max at 600lift...
these new eliminator heads are the best thing around period!

Those are good numbers and the best I have seen. There are more cars comming on line now with the new AFR heads and the numbers they are putting down are impressive.
Orr89RocZ's car just made around a 11.70 second pass with his 383 and no dyno tuning. The guy on the Corvette forum put down 470rwhp with a 370 motor. Very impressive perfomances.
