Re: TPI parts AFPR

Do a search, alot of people have them. I went with a BBK unit myself because it came with gaskets. Some complains I remember hearing from the TPIParts and Holley AFPRs is that the vacuum tube easily breaks/falls off...

Re: TPI parts AFPR

I have it... had it on only for a few months now... Everything seems to work fine, adjusted the fuel and gained a few ponies. The price was good that's why I went with it. So far so good!

Re: TPI parts AFPR

I have the BBK AFPR and it looks just like that one. I can't see how it would be any different. There's not really much to it.

By the way on my BBK regulator the vacuum tube also came out. Easy fix with some JB Weld. Haven't had any issues with it yet.

Re: TPI parts AFPR

Buy yourself the Holley AFPR, it is the best one on the market in my opinion. I had a Crane one which is almost the same as the BBK and it was a pain to adjust it due to the space/location

I like the Holley as it is based on a knob or dial and easier to turn, but I did have to shave a little bit of the Upper intake to make it fit.

The Holley has been on my vehicle now for about 4-5 yrs with no problems.

Re: TPI parts AFPR

I remember I had to trim off the adjustable screw a bit...about 1/4th of an inch so it wouldn't top out on the plenum...

Re: TPI parts AFPR

if the lil threaded tube comes out of your TPIS AFPR just put it in the vice (squeese lightly) and mainly let the collar rest aganst the jaws and get a pointed punch and insert it in the treaded end and give it a few taps and this will expand the threaded end and you can thread it back into the main body.
mine came out as well and i got tired of having a glob of RTV there to hold it on.
one night i was tinkering in the eng bay and looked at the tube after i bumped it and it came off AGAIN. my tube is in good and solid with no issues.

Re: TPI parts AFPR

We recently had a customer inquire about a possible problem they had heard about on here regarding the vacuum fitting on our fuel regulators. To date, we have not heard of any instances where the vacuum fitting has either fallen or broken off on our units.

The vacuum fitting on our regulators are threaded on, they are not pressed on (which is a problem with the regulators from a couple of manufacturers). The only way to remove the fitting is to grab a small wrench and unscrew it. The fitting itself is a bit beefier than it needs to be, its not something that would break easily.

If anyone has had a problem with one of our regulators, please contact us so we can address the problem.

Thank you,
TPI PARTS

Re: TPI parts AFPR

I prefer the Holley AFPR because of the large diameter dial on top of the unit to adjust the fuel pressure. I have been running it probably for 6 to 7 years.

Re: TPI parts AFPR

did you guys re-use the metal collar from the stock FPR ? reason I ask is I got the Crane afpr and my pressure bleeds off too fast like 1 min instead of 1 -2 hours like before I installed it. also I stripped out most the screws so I got allen socket cap replacements, I'm thinking maybe the heads aren't big enough and the lack of the collar is not holding it down even enough??

Re: TPI parts AFPR

that ebay one looks nice, but its probably not worth the money because
1. Its not a direct bolt in for TPI, if you want to use that, you have to remove the stock FPR and block it off and then splice this one in the return line of the fuel and even then, it looks like it doesn't have AN fittings...or threaded fittings period. Which gets you into buying correct fittings and such and you'll end up paying more for the fittings and lines than you did for the unit...
2. I wouldn't trust car parts from a video game store (check the feedback)
