Car covers?

What kinda are any of you guys using? I'm thinkin' something that's a custom fit? And what are you guys without working power antennas using? Do they make them with provisions for an antennas, or are you just forced to fix it or just cutting a hole for it? Anyone wanna let me know what you've used and liked and disliked for outdoor use?

Re: Car covers?

I'm using a wolf automotive cover from summit. And I just take the antenna off. A hole in a car cover seems a little purpose defeating to me...

Re: Car covers?

I purchased a WeatherShield custom-made car cover on May 22, 2007, shipped on May 29, 2007 and received today (June 1). I'ts on my 'vert and is custom fit. It has worn well so far and I follow the instructions on keeping it clean. I'd recommend the company (but shop around for best price first).

Re: Car covers?

California car covers for a custom fit and yes you do have to cut a hole for the antenna.

Re: Car covers?

Yea I have a Cal Car Cover StormWeave. I highly recommend California Car Covers because they have very good warrantys, excellent customer service (I can attest to), many different covers to choose from, and they're sure to fit you r car.

I can also attest to the fact that a 3rd Gen cover (Camaro or Firebird) will also fit a 4th gen Camaro or Firebird!

Re: Car covers?

are you guys talking about a garage car cover to keep the dust off or one for outside that is 100% waterproof and not just water resistant...ive bought 3 different car covers all said were water proof and they were only water resistant and let water threw...need to find one that does not let any water even in a monsoon go threw it as i live where it rains a lot during the winter and no garage to park it in

Re: Car covers?

I just twist and gently push each stage of the antenna mast down when I need to put the cover on. Cutting a hole would be a bad idea.

Same question here, because I bought a car cover by Budge (size 3) from Wal-Mart for $20 that is water resistant, fits very well, and does a great job of keeping the car clean from tree sap, bird droppings, etc. I wouldn't mind finding one that is waterproof though.

Re: Car covers?

Most car covers are made to be breathable, so finding one that's waterproof could prove difficult.

I bought a universal electric antenna on E-bay for about $35.00. Works well for me.

If you're worried about the antenna or using an antenna patch, you could always shave the antenna - I love the clean look of my fender now that the antenna has been shaved.

I have seen some for sale on ebay that claim to be 100% waterproof, might be worth trying. I need one that will block the rain and the sun.

Re: Car covers?

I ended up buying that "waterproof" one on ebay and it was a waste of money. The dew went right through it. I threw it in the trash.

I am thinking of getting one of these though...

Re: Car covers?

i searched and researched my purchase and ended up going with a covercraft outdoor cover from jegs.
its the noah material and all.
car stays very clean under cover, unless it pours for 2 days strait, car will be dry even in a downpour.
the only thing you have to do is wipe the car off and drive.
i use a quick detailer and go. very rarely wash my car anymore, and it sits under 2 big *** oak trees.

Re: Car covers?

I currently have a WOLF cover (with the evolution 3 fabric). Nice piece but fits rather loosly.

In the fall I'll get a Hugger Cover. I've seen these. They are a custom fit and stay on even during wind. REALLY nice cover. Great for outdoor protection.
