Re: Door weather stripping and outside window seals

I used the Metro kit and it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was it didn't have the plastic retainer moulded into the rubber where it screws to the door. I had to stretch the rubber but it came out good overall. Was tough to shut the doors for a while till it set, but it seemed like a nice kit.

did you have issues with the doors closing? I just got the metro kit and installed. Seemed to fit pretty well except a few holes. looks great but man do i have to slam my doors very hard to close them. will this get better?

Re: Door weather stripping and outside window seals

On the outer window sweeps I've used original GM and aftermarket stuff and found no difference. All of the holes may not line up and I've had to drill a handful with every set, even the GM ones, but it's no big deal. I've gotten the last two sets from 1AAuto, no complaints. $67.90 for a pair now.

I installed a set of the door moldings from 1AAuto about two years ago and, no, they don't have the hard plastic moldings in the ends. I installed them with weatherstripping adhesive and they have held up really well however, no complaints. They're asking $73 for a set now.

You may find a set of door seals with the factory style ends for more $ but you can't go wrong with the window sweeps from 1AAuto.

Re: Door weather stripping and outside window seals

yeah, They fit really well. my problem now is the window is too close to the frame by the mirror so when I go to close the door it bounces back and when it finally closes the part where the triangle by the window is gets pushed way out so it will close. I'm trying to adjust the window but I'm still having a hard time. when the window os partly down it shuts great but if you try to put the window up after the door is closed it won't go all the way up and leaves a gap.
