B&M Mega shifter

Anyone know why a B&M megashift will not work in a 89 Formula?

It should work fine, unless someone previously modded your console and screwed it all up.

Re: B&M Mega shifter

It also depends on the part# of the mega shifter. Different mega shifters fit different generation consoles. Check your part# and cross reference it with the ones offered from Jegs or Summit. You may have one that is for another generation......

No I've been wanting to get one for my Formula, but it states in the information that it will not fit 88-92 Formula's, I just want to see if someone has tried it or knows why. Part #80692.

Re: B&M Mega shifter

the camaro shifters have a longer throw on the console side,so the console covers are different, but the b&m should function the same,i looks like the pontiac console cover would have to be cut open larger.i have both cars sitting in my garage.but i havent tried the install either.

Re: B&M Mega shifter

But it states it just won't fit the Formula's, says nothing about the Trans Am, I thought they were the same, but if it just take a little cutting to fit thats ok. I just do want it to have nothing to do with the workings of the shifter.

Re: B&M Mega shifter

the reson is the 88-92 formulas dont have the removable plate on top the top is all one piece from the stereo to the arm rest to make it work all you have to do is cut out the top
