Anyone tried a Summit Electric Fuel Pump

I am curious about this Summit Fuel Pump:

It is rated higher than the Holley Blue, anyone try it?

Re: Anyone tried a Summit Electric Fuel Pump

I run that same pump, it has worked fine for one year now, only time will tell how long it will last.
It has always ran quieter than my holey blue that I replaced, and although it looks similar, it is not built exactly the same, so I do not know if it would be hard to get a rebuild kit or not.
Overall I have been satisfied so far.

I believe that's the one I have.
It's LOUDER THAN SIN. I'd do a normal in tank fuel pump if at all possible...

That is odd, because I replaced a Holley blue and the summit pump is deffinitley quiter, however, either pump is louder than an in tank pump by quite a bit, mine does not bother me because of my exhaust being loud enough to not hear the pump, but I could see it bothering some people.

I have noticed some pumps that seem to be extremely loud are either not mounted correctly, or the fuel lines are not fastened to the car really well, either one of those problems will cause the pump to make considerably more noise.

Re: Anyone tried a Summit Electric Fuel Pump

hmm, worth noting... I have mine mounted as per their instructions, with the little rubber thing behind it... But the fuel lines are not well secured... Maybe i'll get some insulated 3/8" clamps and some sheet metal screws and clamp 'em down and see if that helps.

On my car I used the stock fuel lines, and they are mounted well, my fuel pump is so much quiter than my buddies, he has aftermarket aluminum line that is not well fastened, and it just rattles like crazy!

Re: Anyone tried a Summit Electric Fuel Pump

you're probably hearing the line rattling sonix. my old holley blue was LOUD because of the 1/2" aluminum line I ran rattled everywhere. Now I have -10 line and a huge pump, so now it's the pump that is loud

Re: Anyone tried a Summit Electric Fuel Pump

hmm, I had posted a picture of my fuel line setup out of the tank, but I can't find it now...
I thought it was relatively well secured, but i'll have to get some more insulated clamps and see if I can't improve it a bit...
I'll let you guys know if that helps...
