info on "Speed by Spectre" filter

i have seeing ads for this product constantly; the commercials claim this filter delivers the same performance as per-say a "K&N" or any other reusable/rewashable filter. apperently the prices are real low; sold at autozone.
one more thing, these filters are also washable.
has anyone tried this filter?
are the claims true?
from my search this product has not been reviewed.

spectre which is what i think you mean. not spector like the guy from mortal kombat.

anyways. ive found that quality in most of their stuff is rather inconsistent. i bought a filter and it lasted a good while, i bought spark plug wire separators and theyre complete garbage. even though they were rather pricey. ive bought breathers and theyve been kinda crappy too. the rubber female end of it ended up ripping. but i use there cold air intake couplings all the time.

personally my favorite spectre is the ghost car from the twisted metal series.

but IMO most of spectre's parts are garbage. and you still will use kn recharger kits so might as well go k and n

i actually thought it was crazy seeing a spectre commercial, cuz i always thought there stuff was a knockoff of good stuff. its as if flavor aid came back and made commercials

The downside to that kit... they work great if you have an excessively tall intake or no need for power brakes. Otherwise you will run into some definite clearance issues as the air tubes start at the master cylinder.

I see people picking up the filters and couplers all the time. Havent had any complaints. But their carbed cold air intake setup was a bust. Might work if the master cylinder were located 10inches lower on the firewall and the a/c system completely removed. Or if you chopped the snorkels off say 5-7inches shorter to make the tight turns.

Re: info on "Speed by Spector" filter

They are nothing but late comers to the auto market industry. Honeslty reusable filters have been around for what 10-15 years. Everything I see that Spector makes at Autozone looks like junk.

Re: info on "Speed by Spectre" filter

Funny how they make the commercials promising, but I am glad they have been tested; trash, too bad. I was going to consider their CAI set-up but have moved on. Looking for something like this but not exactly.
