B&M Magnum Grip Pro Stick Shifter - Carbon fibre

Hey there fellow thirdgeners i'd been looking for a new shifter for a while and wasnt keen on the megashifters T handle, wanted decent pistol grip alternative that didnt look out of place. The carbon fibre magnum shifter certainly wont look out of place being all black, same as the console. Of course like the other shifters in this range they arent designed for console mount in mind, which made the install all the more interesting! It comes with a 3 speed gate but theres a 4 speed avaliable, so just swap it over. Most of the fabrication required is making the base plate since it wont fit in the same spot as the original. That and sorting out the wiring for the switches, i used relays to isolate the circuits, theres a fair amount of current through some of those wires!
Havent seen any other mention of this shifter, anyone else using one?

Re: B&M Magnum Grip Pro Stick Shifter - Carbon fibre

Fairly smooth install, though there were one or two issues! The cable is on the right side of this shifter, where as it is on the left on the original. Could drill another hole, if u wanted to take the center console out, or just file it some, as i did . Then put some gunk to patch up the gap round the gromit. Slightly more annoying is the play in the handle form side to side, only noticeable when i installed it, this means can activate the microswitches which work the reverse lights etc, in any gear! great to scare the guy behind u but otherwise not good. This can be easily remedied with a nice fat bolt through a hole near the said switches.

Re: B&M Magnum Grip Pro Stick Shifter - Carbon fibre

Here is one without the cover installed, im working on that bit at the moment, it fits in the original shifter hole. Just need to get the indicator to work. Also there is a pic of the wiring, it only comes with a starter enable microswitch, but another microswitch for reverse is a few peanuts, dont bother with the "B&M" one. All in all im happy with it, feels solid and shifts well. Recomend it if ur good at fabricating stuff
