Heddman Headers

I picked up my headers today. Heddmans version of the 2055's.
First impressions..very well made. Nice welds and even the air tubes are heavy gauge steel.
The paint job on them is crap..but I am going to have to touch them up after I cut the air tubes off anyway.
The flange on the y pipe is a better design then Hookers in that the exhaust pipe is flush with the bottom of the socket instead of sticking up into the collector.

If anyone is interested..I can take some pics of the kit.

I have had good experience with heddman headers in the past. Be aware though, that paint isnt there for the headers when installed, its there to keep them from rusting in the box and whatnot. It will burn right off when in the car.

Re: Heddman Headers

thanks for the positive feedback.
I assumed it would burn off..when I said it was crap..they missed a spot the size of a softball on the y pipe...
I picked up some VHT header paint..going to bake it on before I installed them.

Re: Heddman Headers

Well I have the headers installed. Cut the air tubes off, had the holes mig welded, refinished them with the vht, baked it for an hour at 350 degrees and installed them.
Passenger side just about fell into place. the drivers side required removing the engine mount bolt and jacking the engine up a bit. Not a big deal.
She sounds great with open headers.
I'm going to get a wav file of the exhaust when it's complete.
FlowMaster 3" cat back, series 30 muffler and no converter.
