Buy this one off ebay. Way cheaper and the same setup.

Re: Flex-a-Lite fan and Radiator Combo

These guys get good rep and are cheap.

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/co...guys-want.html (So you guys want a bolt in all aluminum 3 core radiator?)

I believe all you have to do is re-tap the transmissions cooler line threads and your good to go (Might not even have to do that). What size to tap to? I am unsure. Nobody who re-taps these ever says what size to re-tap them too. So read through that and make a choice. I will be going with their dual fan with shroud setup for $440.

Re: Flex-a-Lite fan and Radiator Combo

My biggest concern is proper cooling where I live. We have summer from May to November here in Texas and I want to buy for my swap(383 Stroker,475-500HP) the best cooling system I can get. I agree the Flex-a-Lite is overpriced compared to other units and thats why I need all the input from you guys on this board I can get. Thanks for all the replys and if anyone knows about or sees something better,LMK.

Re: Flex-a-Lite fan and Radiator Combo

I have a griffin with flex a lite fans before and it did well also. Im running a stock rad. with a pro forum fan now. Gonna get the ebay setup here soon. combo is in sig.

I have the fan on a switch on/off or set for using a built in ajd. thermo. last outing 30mine round trip. No fan on the car stayed under 220* but then again I have a electric water pump. so even in stopped traffic I have a constant coolant flow.

Re: Flex-a-Lite fan and Radiator Combo

I bought the 500 be cool radiator off of summit (direct fit) and the be-cool dual electric fan set up for that radiator out of the year one for 82-02 Firebird/Camaros and I am real happy with the set up, and it is comparable in price, radiator size etc. I have a 327 in my Firebird originally out of a 69 camaro and on a hundred degree day my water temp will never go above 160.

Re: Flex-a-Lite fan and Radiator Combo

atempted to install a "model specific" radiator into a 78 GMC, to start it was about 2" to short and couldnt be mounted, not a big deal, built some custom mounts and away we go, go to install the hoses. and BOTH the inlet and outlet are about 1/4" smaller than the original. at this point the application is verified, and the rad is swapped, only to have the same issue. finally get the truck running, and it has trouble cooling a 290hp gm crate engine, re-install a stock one, not a problem, it also leaked from one of the welds on the right tank

They have a lifetime warranty and a money back guarrantte on cooling you car, fiment, and manufacturer defects.. If you had a problem with it you should have returned it. Anything that is mass produced will have good parts and bad parts but if the vendor stands behind it like champion does I think the price and part is worth it.
