A good upgrade is the LS1 brakes check out ebmiller on the brake board he can sell you a whole kit. I have got them and it's night and day diffirence they are better out there but for the money they do a good job.

Re: Need help stopping......

Baer makes a good kit, they come with the spindles, it is just bolt on. The only install problem I had was the bracket connection for the new braided flex line that came with the kit.

There are a few other kits out there including the 1LE conversion kits. You will probably be looking at at least $1000 for a front kit.

I am pretty sure there are kits out there too that you can switch out your drums in the back for some disks.

Check out my fquick link for photos of the Baer Sport kit. The calipers and pads are basically C4 Vette parts, and the disks are seperate from the bearings which in my opinion are easier to deal with.

Re: Need help stopping......

I went with ebmiller's LS1 upgrade kit.
Easy as pie to install.
I'm glad I was wearing my seatbelt the first time I hit the brakes after the install. If not, I would've slammed my head into the windshield.

Here's a link of Ed's site:
http://www.flynbye.com/

Cutting the ears and drilling and tapping the spindles isn't difficult. Check the following link for info: http://web.archive.org/web/200605221.../1LEbrake.html

The 1LE set-up, IIRC, is $850 from Spohn. Here's a link to the rears:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/fa...iscs-89-a.html (82-88 Discs to 89-92/Pics and Part Numbers)

You'll have to remove the axles to accomplish the above:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tr...ing-axles.html (Tips/Tricks for Installing Axles, Bearings, Seals)

Ed fabs a bolt-on set-up to swap from drum to disc.

You'll find info in the following link about master cylinders, proportioning valves, and e-brake cables:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tr...-10-bolts.html (FAQ About 10-Bolts)

Re: Need help stopping......

a friend of mine put c5 corvette brakes on his and they rule, and apparently it looks pretty cheap.
it might be a little tougher to install but worth it IMO.

After hearing my bud's story about how badly ebmiller screwed him around, I'd go talk to the guy at bigbrakeupgrade.com

http://www.bigbrakeupgrade.com/

When ebmiller learns how to take care of his customers I'll consider giving him my business.
