Aftermarket Front Bumper Cover

Anyone have any experience with these?

Ecklers
http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product...dept%5Fid=1427

YearOne
http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...d=G20AC136&trk=

Or Ecklers fiberglass

I am trying to decide if the shop should fix mine (no damage, just sagging) or try to make an aftermarket one fit.

Re: Aftermarket Front Bumper Cover

I dont know where mine came from since it was on the car when I bought it, but I can tell you it fits like CRAP!. The corners near the headlights are turned in and theres a paint chip just below the hood that lets light shine thru when I turn the fog lights on. I purchased a used cover and plan to refinish it. I would stay away from aftermarket body parts.....they just dont fit correctly.

Re: Aftermarket Front Bumper Cover

I work in the body shop business, and aftermarket body parts, especially non sheetmetal parts, are generally made in taiwan and not a very good fit. they either make their own molds, or purchase GM's old, worn out molds.
I have both aftermarket front and rear covers, which were on the car when I bought it, and they dont fit near as well as OEM covers.

search your area for a bumper reconditioning place that either has GM covers already reconditioned, or can recondition yours.
they can be generally be reconditioned for less than an aftermarket cover price, provided there is no major damage.

I plan to get some reconditioned oem covers for my car before I paint it.

Re: Aftermarket Front Bumper Cover

All the junkyards around me have Camaros that are all busted up. This is California, where people love cars like this and drive them year round so it's hard to find them.

Anything in remotely good shape is swept up by somebody so they can work on it, leaving nothing but busted up bumper covers in the yards. Sometimes I feel it would be better to just start buying 1000 dollar Camaros for the parts, you can still find plenty of those around...
