87' K-Member Swqp - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Hey, I'm new to this site and I thought it'd be helpful with my car, I have an 1987 Iroc with the crack in the k-member and I'm about to attempt to do a k-member swap. Here are my 2 questions so far.

a. Can I use any 82-92 camaro/firebird k-member if I get one from the junkyard?

b. Can I do the swap without pulling the motor?

Sure, they're all the same. Just the brake lines bolted to the crossmember and the motor mounts are different on some engines.

b. Can I do the swap without pulling the motor?

Theoretically... Jack up the car, hook a hoist to the engine, unbolt the motor mounts and front suspension and drop the crossmember.
