| Bf Goodrich Phantom Zrx Tires
Hey all,
I was in the market for some new tires. I had planned on buying black 17" ZR1 rims & tires a few months from now, but wanted to just buy some cheap tires in the meantime. Initially, I was going to buy a set of "takeoff" Goodyear from SLP @ $99 ea. Well, I figured that I would have to pay for shipping, mounting & balancing, so I would probably end up paying $550-$600. After considering this, I decided to take a trip down to Discount Tire Co. I asked the salesman what their cheapest Z rated tire was. He said he had a brand called "Phantom." I was skeptical at first, then he mentioned that the Phatom's are actually manufactured by BF Goodrich. So, he took me back and showed me the tire. The tire looks identical to the Comp TA's. Then he told me the price- $97. I was sold. After I bought the tires, I got on the internet and tried to determine if the salesman had lied about the BF Goodrich. Surprisingly, I found a few F-BODY sites where member's listed their mods list with "BF GOODRICH PHANTOM ZRX" tires. So, if you want a beefy, *CHEAP* Z-rated tire, check them out!!!!!
