any probs w/ TFS 23* heads? (valve guide wear)?

The TFS heads look pretty good on paper. The price is right, but is the quality? I noticed they come with bronze guides to help reduce the wear associated with their previous use of cast(?) guides that cause premature wear.

Can anybody share their experience with these heads?

My choice in heads right now is leaning towards edelbrock because I don't want (can't afford) to make a mistake on this one. I don't want to replace my guides and be burning oil after 10K miles.

I've had mine since 1995 & so far no trouble. The only bad thing about them is that they don't come helicoiled so you have to do that if you don't want thread problems. I'm pretty positive that no Edlebrocks come helicoiled either, so they're about even.

I'm talking about all the threads in the whole head, not just for the rocker studs.

I have not ever heard of valve guide problems (or any other problems) with the 23* heads. I believe it was the early twisted wedge heads that had some valve guide problems.
