Aftermarket seals from 1aauto

Hi, just wanted to ask your opinion on weatherstripping and other seals from 1aauto; they offer ten years warranty, but I've heard it's not the easiest work to install 'em. Am I wrong? would you recommend them?
Thx, Mike

i got their weatherstripping (won it on ebay). when i got it.. it looked good. thats really all i have to saw about that, install was easy since all u did was push the plastic things into the holes.. but the end peices would be either to long or to short of where they were suppose to mount. i cant even close my driver side door cause of this (well i can. but i have to put some body weight into it to do it). if/when i do it again, im just gong to go with good old GM. they are more $$ , but their **** fits.

Re: Aftermarket seals from 1aauto

Hello, just wanted to say that I am currently an employee for 1AAuto and more than happy to answer any questions on these parts. The weatherstripping (about 90% of it) is made for us by Metro. They do have a 10 year warranty against defects and 3rd gens are one of our highest selling kits. I know some people do not like aftermarket stripping, but I rarely hear issues with the doors. However, for those with t-tops, we do carry some of the OE stuff. but, by all means, if anyone has any questions, i'm more than happy to help.

Re: Aftermarket seals from 1aauto

Bought two kits from 1 aauto no issues!!!!!! Forgot to mention earlier that these kits were for 82 & 83 Chevy pickups. Anyone using aftermarket weatherstirp for a thirdgen should seriously think twice. A hardtop guy may get away (barely) with aftermarket weatherstrip, but rarely T-TOP cars without major issue's!!!!!!

10 year warranty, eh? I bought a kit from 1AAuto on eBay about four years back. On the door strips there are seams near the top of both windows that look like they were glued together. They both split within the first year. I'll be glad to know this isn't normal. What do I need to do to get them replaced? I doubt I have a receipt from my eBay purchase that long ago. If I have to buy them again, I guess I'd buy from GM.
