If Bort62 owes you money or parts, please come inside

I'm starting this post to see how much money this guy has disappeared with and from how many people. I'll start with myself.

I gave him $40 for a new chip. He sent me two junk chips which you can read about here I have yet to receive the magical chip he keeps promising me.

Me. I am talking to him right now and he admits that he was being lazy and didn't want to deal with anyone so he ignored everyone. He claims that he has yours burnt and ready to go. He is going to put an address on it and send it in the mail.
I told him that I sent out a internet freud and mail freud application (which I did) and he will be correcting problems. I will believe it when I see it.

Add me to this. I ordered a chip, never heard back at all, no replies to numerous emails. Luckily I paid by Paypal and got most of it back.

OK, I just got another email from him. He claims he lost my address so he hasn't been able to send the chip out yet. I emailed my address back to him. Let's see now. Like it's been said earlier, I'll believe it when I see it.

He emailed me again. Said the chip's in the mail. Let's see if he has changed his seemingly shady ways yet.

I got my chip today. Same old junk chip with VATS yet again . This guy must have an IQ equal to that of plant life because he doesn't seem to understand simple English. How many friggin' times will I have to explain to him that 1988 f-bodies didn't have VATS. I waited and waited for this f***ing thing and he sent me the same old piece of crap that I told him didn't work. This is the final f***ing straw!! I'm gonna do something drastic now!!!!

88Iroc, What does your car do when you put the chip in?
I put mine in and it is a whole lot faster except the it idles funny. I don't know if it is because I didn't disable the CSI or what.

Thirdgen86TA, my car refuses to fire with the new chip. It will run for a few revolutions on residual fumes/gas in the cylinders but after that it acts like it's getting no fuel at all. VATS is supposed to cut the signal to the injectors, so I'm 99.99% sure thats what it is. In fact, Bort62 himself admitted that he forgot to disable VATS on my chip last time. Yet the dumb@ss sent me the same damn thing again . BTW, the car runs fine with the old chip and even without it off the limp home circuitry.

ALL 88 and up f-bodys had VATS. Then again, I remember something about only the higherend fbodys having them as an option.

If it doesnt, and its on in the chip, wouldnt the computer just not know what to do with that signal and ignore it anyway

Not flamin, honest question, I really dont know, but Im thinking if there is no Vats programing in the car, how is it gonna know whether there is Vats information on the chip.

i assume it won't fire the injectors with vats enabled. it looks for the resistor value(duh not there) and doesn't see it , so it doesn't fire the injectors? make sense? i believe that's how it works. i burned a chip with the vats enabled and the car would not fire up. i re-burned without and it started right up.

mystikkal_69, you're right about VATS. The chip doesn't see the resistor value and consequently cuts the injector signal. Higher end f-bodies might have had VATS available as an option in 1988, but my car is nowhere near high end. Cloth seats, manual windows, no tilt, base sound system, the list goes on.

I have finally arrived at the conclusion that Bort62 is not just a lazy SOB but also a liar. He claims on his webpage, http://speedtoys.com/~bort62/PROM/ which ironically no longer works, that his chips have a hotter tune, a so called ARAP code that GM made available only on press cars. From what I just found out, that claim is a complete crock of . I had a fellow board member disable VATS for me on the latest chip he sent, which I received at pretty much the same everyone else here got their stuff, and I asked him to compare the chip to a stock 305 chip just for the sake of curiosity, and voila, surprise surprise, it's a bone stock 305 chip. The bastard deserves all the sh!t he gets. Yes, the dirty bugger sent me yet another chip, number 3 to be precise, with the same damn problems. I swear, either he has an IQ equal to that of plant life, or he just wants to get into trouble. If I wanted a stock f@#$ing chip I wouldn't have gone through this kind of trouble. What a dirty c**t I swear !!! I guess we can add false advertising to the list of crap he should be charged with. I think we need to sic the law on this a$$hole.
