i ordered a T56 crossmember with the DS loop... of course right afterward, i read 15 threads on it hitting the stock TQ arm. they're all older threads though, so i hope the problem has been correected.
they didnt have one in stock, so mine wont ship until the middle of next week
i SHOULD have just ordered it 2 weeks ago, when i ment to do it.
Ordered a T56 Retrofit xmember today, already got a tracking number, Spohn = Excellent, ill reply again when I recieve my item and let you guys know the condition.

Steve built some stuff for me custom a long time ago. I let him borrw my trans and all for a while so he could then build jigs to make more of the crossmembers. Steve is one of the best internet related experiences I have ever had. If anyone ever posts something negative about Steve I would question the buyers legitimacy first.
P.S. Steve when those A-arms going to come around...... hehe
Another for Spohn i recently ordered lca's, subframe connectors and a panhard bar. I didn't get a confirmation for a few days at first but steve emailed me and said it was because the subframe connectors were out at powdercoat. i'll order there again!!

Steve is great to deal with. I've ordered endlinks through the mail from them and recieved them TWO DAYS after ordering them! Since then, I went to visit their shop to have their subframe connectors installed and purchase a wonderbar, and it was all great work and good experiences. They definitely have my vote.
I have ordered from Spohn in the past and i have to say, you really can't appreciate how good he is until you deal with a company like SLP. My SFC's came in a few days from spohn, i had to drive from queens NY to Toms River NJ in the middle of installing my motor to PICKUP my exhaust. It was waiting for me on the loading dock but for some reason they needed 5 additional business days to ship it to me. I can't wait to buy more Spohn stuff
last fall i spent allot of money with spohn i got the th350 crossmember/torque arm, the HD driveshaft, and a pair of LCAs and som misc stuff. his work is very high quality and the service was excellent!! Horray FOR SPOHN!!!

it hits the TQ arm.
so i made the crossmember go as far from the TQ arm as it could... and it still hit.
then i pulled it off, and ground the crap out of the back half of the loop where it was hitting until it cleared... it JUST BEARLY clears.
i was going to take pics and post as soon as i pull it off (and i should pull it off soon since its bare metal from where i ground it) but ive been driving the car and havent gotten around to doing it.
im swapping rears again soon (possibly before the weekend) so i'll probly do it then, while the driveshaft is off.
I can't say enough good thing about my dealing with Spohn. Steve has gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Calling me to tell me that he'd shipped the wrong brake lines, long before I would have noticed and covering the cost of the exchange. Sending me a replacement bolt when a bolt that I didn't torque high enough fell out, and not charging me for it. I have purchased form Steve twice and if he has a part that I want, I'll buy from him again.

btw, dont get me wrong, i know his customer service is top notch.
im just not teh only one hitting the stock TQ arm on the stupid loop.
Has anyone bothered to actually communicate with Spohn about it hitting the stock TQ arm? and see what he has to say?
Fortunately, I didn't have that problem, because I bought and installed the Spohn Adj. Torque arm with front loop, as well as relocation brackets, strut towers, F+R sway bars, Earl's SS brake lines, as well as a few other odds and ends.
The Earl's "center rear" brake line did not have the correct fitting on one end, and he gave my situation his personal attention (including a phone call), and way more time than I would normally expect from somebody, especially considering he did not make/package the Earl's brake lines.

if you use his TQ arm, there is no problem.
i havent called him back, but because of timing mostly...im at work when hes open... i work in a quiet office, and while my boss doesnt mind me talking about car stuff online, some of the other, working people dont need to hear me talking about cars on the phone
the other reason is, theres nothign he could have done.. i needed the car working right then. taking a grinder to a $160 crossmember that i waited a extra 4 days for powdercoating isnt my idea of fun.
Originally posted by ksrammstein You said he installs them at his shop too? Or did I missunsderstand? I would love to have them install all future suspension mods...
Yes, they do installs at their shop. I had read a number of stories about how people had ordered great SFCs from them but couldn't find anyone that were willing or knew how to install them. I finally talked to Steve on the phone about everything and he said they do installs all the time. I didn't realize it until he told me where the shop is, but it was barely a two hour drive from where I am, so I went for it. I spent all of maybe 3 hours there as they pulled the seats, lifted the carpet, got the car in the air, welded on the SFCs, gave the welds a quick coat of paint (i'd rather have just brought some POR-15 with me to put on there instead, but it was nice of them), reinstalled my interior, and had me on my way.
I friend of mine just called to purchase SFC's and get them installed on his 02 SS. Steve said that they aren't doing installs for a while. He tried to make an Appointment for May 8, but he was told that they need to spend more time actually making their products.
He did offer another shop in Baltimore to get the install done, but that's just too far of a drive.
Ordered Earl's Hyperfirm brake lines online on Sunday night, assume they get the order on Monday, SHIPPED IT on Monday, got it today (Tuesday)!!! No special mailing requested. These guys F'n OWN!
Now if only my visors from fbodymotorsports will show up after more than a month of waiting...
This thing is beefy and bolted right up. I didnt' experience any bolt holes not lining up. Perhaps the people who have is because maybe thier chassis has warped? His holes lined up perfectly, 15 minute job to stiffen the front end up a bit. Great job spohn!

Spohn is the best in my book. I got my tremec t-56 and all the swap pieces from Steve, beautiful welds, everything fit perfectly, crossmember, torque arm, and drive shaft, perfectly made and powder coated. Love the personal service too. Most of the time when you call, your talking to Steve or Gordon Spohn. can't wait to order more from Spohn Performance.
