I dont know how you can have both a good and bad experience with a company at the same time, but heres the story. i ordered a miniram for my l98 along with some bosch injectors and a level VI chip to run it. i got the miniram and it looked pretty good (not as flawless as it should have been for $900) had some machining marks on it and such. i let that go cause no one will really notice anyway. installation went smoothly until i got to the f-body fuel rail kit that i ordered with it. i almost called them and asked if it was a joke. a chimp could have designed a better fuel line route. so $150 and some braided ss line later i got a decent fuel system. now im ready to put the distributor back in and the goddamn holddown bolt bottoms out before its anywhere near tight. i thought to myself wtf is this crap. to make matters worse, the waterneck bolts were also too long. i did call them this time and the response i got was "some of the bolts were a little bit longer than others" i said how bout you machine your "$900" intake so that all bolt lengths fit and i dont have to go out and spend 5 more bucks on this thing. at least they sent me the right water neck unlike so many other unfortunate souls on here. now heres the turnaround. before i did the intake, i had the stock tpi, the zz-409 cam, and a level VI chip. the car ran ok but it was dog rich and stunk like raw gas all the time. my a/f meter would barely cycle and would stay rich at idle no matter what. i finally got it ready and fired her up. it took maybe 5 minutes and the a/f meter started jumping around just like it did stock. it doesnt smell like gas, and it sounds mean as hell. i put the diacom on it and was pretty amazed by the readout cause i dont think they could have got much closer if they had the car to tune. im sure dyno tuning would get a bit more out of it. but im quite impressed with how close it is now. it runs great the intake and cam have done everything they said. and i guess i can say im a somewhat satisfied customer.

poor poor thirdgen owner.........if only you would have searched you would have found alot on this very topic discussion. the only reason they are still in business is because most of their customers they screwed are out of state and it's almost impossible to serve them. one day i hope to cross paths with them.......!

TPIS is a joke.

i had a plesent experience with them (well almost) i bought a bunch of things for my car thru them. 1 of them being the AFR 195 heads. unfortunatlly at the time i was ordering heads, AFR was on a 6 week backorder. EVERY place i called didnt have any, or had ford heads... except TPIS. the only problem was they only had 1 set left.. and it was their higher priced "port job" version of them left. so it was either pay $1800 for these heads.. or wait 6 weeks. seeing how my engine *355 at the time* was phuqed *blew it* and the 400 block as well as everythign else was already in, i got them.. plus i was ordering other things thru them. the heads themselves were beautiful. but their port job.. well.. it wasnt worth the additional $400 they wanted. it looked like they just cleaned the areas up some. the guy building my engine took ALOT more out of the heads, and only for $150. but the big mouth intake, large tube runners, 58mm TB, alum driveshaft, rockers, and some other small things were all flawless.

that was nothing they had a hand in.

their port work....their casting (miniram in particular) and their programming is second to everyone.....more or less last place.

they just aren't worth the money. however, an example given above where you need something that another company makes and they carry it well that's a different story.
