Tell us which one you bought. I have read a lot of good stuff about them and talked to them once. Seem very knowledgable. They claim they have a 2800 stall convertor for the 7r4 that is tight enough it won't slip much if any about town keeping heat to a minimum and won't lose any mileage.

I thought they had a 2400 or 2800, did they do a custom one for you or what ?

"Street Edge - Custom configured performance high stall torque converter. Designed with your specifications for maximum performance! "

Maybe their stocking 12in converters come in only those two, but with mine you can tell them what size you want.

Edge Converters

Running an Edge 9 1/2 3000 I ordered from Andre
and luv it.
Gave him my combo and he nailed the stall. Was worried
about the stall on the street but works great.

Had also ordered some tranny parts and some pieces missing and not what I wanted; Called him, and he refunded for those parts rite away.
Definately do business with him again

Later

He kept leaning to the 2800 for me also. That's a 9.5 also right ? Been a while since I spoke to him. How much slipping under light throttle take offs and did your mileage suffer at all ? Still running 3.42 gears ? What type of cooler you running ? Thx

I am running 3.27 in the 9 bolt, have considered going to 3.45 but we all know how hard they are too find and they are extremely expensive. I don't think it's worth the trouble form a 3.27 to a 3.45 anyway ?

yes its the 9.5 inch version. And yes i'm running 3.42 gears still. i've had 2.77's 3.27's and now 3.42's with this converter, i liked them all. but the 3.42's are very nice. good gain over 3.27's, i could feel it. its perfect now for TPI.

under light throttle take offs it doesnt slip all that much. it doesnt take alot of throttle to get teh car moving but if you press quickly on it, it does slip and flash easily. thats only when you want it to flash tho. Easing off the line, its fine and grabs good. on hills ofcourse it slips some. I"m still running stock camaro tranny cooler but was thinking of upgrading. i really havent noticed much change in mileage if any at all. i dont reallly keep track of it, but on my one long trip, i think it was down 1-2mpg. the losses only occur on hills where i couldnt keep the converter locked since i was going below lockup speed. Now i have a custom chip that lowered TCC 10mph so its alot more hill friendly. I'm very happy with this converter but i've never driven any other converters so i cant truely comment

Re: Edge Converters A+

I got a 2600 stall from Pro Built Automatics along with my new trannsmission. Seems to work perfectly however I'm wondering is it me or does this converter seem to make more noise than a stock converter?

Re: Edge Converters A+

i have no idea, but i filled up my converter with a quart and a half i think, and still had to add like 3-4 quarts since i did spill some fluid during the engine swap.

i have no idea how much it actually holds.

but i did send my old edge out for a restall for the new 383. Told Andre what i wanted and what i had and what i had in mind for the car (3500-3600) and he aggreed that be about right for the car. He set me up with a really nice converter for a nice price. Just a 140 bucks to restall the thing with new internals. Not bad at all. Car drives great and performs great too
