Price Diff. between Hawks/Ramairhoods.com

Anybody know the reason for the huge price difference between the hawks ram air style hood, 510 bucks. And the Ramairhoods.com hood for close to a grand?

Both are functional versions of the 4th gen TA hood.

You mean, other than the fact that RamAirHoods.com (Suncoast), doesn't even MAKE hoods for 3rds gens anymore?

Oh, really? It's on the website so I figured they were still making them. Well I guess that solves that.

Re: Price Diff. between Hawks/Ramairhoods.com

it appears that the suncoast hoods were funtional and the hawks hoods are non-functional, atleast thats what the description says, even though you can order the ram air box and filter with it. kinda confusing

Can you make a non-functional one functional by cutting a hole? I used to have a 2nd gen TransAm, and the first thing I did was to cut out the back section in the shaker to get more airflow...

Yeah it shouldn't be hard to make one functional. But I think on the ta style hood you can buy a ram air box for it on both websites.

Re: Price Diff. between Hawks/Ramairhoods.com

It's also the 3rd vehicle under the chevy list. So both can be made functional, but nobody has an idea what makes them different in price?
