What happened to LS racing chips??

I went to check out their website...

www.LSracingchips.com

and got nothing.

They still around? Or is the domain status down?

They were located in NE ohio i believe which isnt far from me. I was hoping to talk to them about a base tune for my new combo next spring, something to get me started but i have no problems with attempting this on my own

Re: What happened to LS racing chips??

He also did my base tune on my car. Hey let me ask ya. How has he been with ya every step of the way with your car? mail tunes? or did you go to his shop? If he did it mail tunes how and what did you use to get the data too him and how good is he at editing you current tune to come up with the correct tune? I got all my tuning stuff but need to take out my motor AGAIN then I will resume trying to learn but just in case I go ahead and send him my data log..how good was he?

Also when I went to his site about a month ago I too came up with the same and emailed him and his reponse was that he has to much work with dyno tunes that he has decided to stop doing mail order tunes because he had no time to devote to that Says its not fair to his current in house customers.
But he also did say that he will still take care of he past amil tune customers but not taking on any new ones. You probably know him well as I just email him for time to time and have talked with him on the phone about twice. So you may be able to put in a good word for Orr89RocZ

Re: What happened to LS racing chips??

I first did just get a mail order tune from him when i was internally stock L98 and slapped the HSR on there. Then I was thinking H/C....He pointed me in the right direction and before I knew it I made the 7 and a half hour trip to ohio for a tune. I also went back up there when the engine was rebuilt and we did a tune on there again. Worth every penny though. Jamy does not stop until the job is done.

Re: What happened to LS racing chips??

well if he does dyno tunes still, i may be able to get the car somewhat driveable to take over there and let him do some fine tuning on the dyno

but i also got a local shop here that will let me on the dyno for however long i want and i can easily make changes on there with timing and PE enrichment or adjust the MAF tables as i see fit. I'm pretty confident i can pull this off but getting the part throttle daily driver stuff gets me abit worried

I was told he is getting out of the game of mail order tunes and focuses more on the shop and dyno tunes.

that is correct. he took the site down and no longer does mail order tuning. he will still do retunes for any previous customers.

bring it on over. i want to see the car anyways. we're only around an hour from you, just down 76 to akron. we dropped a 383 motor into a white 87 GTA yesterday at the shop.

bring it back on up. it'll take us no time to do a cam swap. i want to see how the car runs. last time i saw it, we pulled the motor out of it before he rebuilt it for you. today at the shop he was showing me dyno runs from your car. we were comparing them to the white gta we're working on right now. your car NA makes more power then this gta does with a 150 shot. we dropped the motor back in with a new eagle 383 kit though.

well i guess technically it was pretty close. the gta had a more lopsided power curve to it. your car is pretty even with hp and torque from the hsr. the other car has stock heads/cam/intake/manifolds. pretty much everything that i've seen on it is bone stock right down to the air filter. your car did make right around the power #'s you mentioned. the gta made 294/434 at the tires with a 150 shot and the dyno tune. it probably would have made more but with the juice it went way fat from too big of a fuel jet. i'm trying to make similar #'s to yours with my 355 hsr motor.

Well power numbers arent anything. A guy on here had a vs carb setup with xr282 cam and is running 12.1X at 110mph. THat is the tgt ET i am looking for with the xr276 cam. What combo are you running and what combo are you looking at?

i'm running a 355 with the lt4 hotcam and the hsr custom tuned by jamy. my exhaust is holding me back pretty bad right now. i'm also using the stock stamped 1.5 rockers at the moment. come income tax time i think i'm going to redo the entire exhaust system. right now i have 2460 headers, stock modified y pipe, 2 1/2 hollow cat converter, 2 1/2 flowmaster exhaust. if all goes as planned i'm stepping up to the 2210 LT's ceramic coated by jet hot, custom y pipe, and a good 3 inch catback... probably either hooker or flowmaster.

i'm wanting to go with a way more aggressive/bigger cam come spring time. haven't really looked at what i want to move up to, i know i want something bigger. i don't think i'll even make 320 rwhp out of the current combo and the goal is 350 rwhp and a mid 12 second pass with the current 355 and heads.

what heads do you have? hotcam should make 350whp with good exhaust/tune and good heads

i'm shooting for 375whp thru the auto with afr 195's on a 355. Cam i'm trying to get is a custom grind, makes power to 6400rpms or so. its gonna rip but be tricky to get low part throttle and idle tune right

I LOVE the Hooker catback...wish I had that instead of my Magnflow...only good thing about Magnaflow is that not alot of thirdgen's in my area have it. But Hooker sounds basass...
Well, if my money situation is good, I have the 276hr cam....dont know if itll work that well with L98 heads though. I could sell it to ya cheap cuz u did help out with the rebuild and you are as excited about my car as i am. Just an option.
I'm just doing the $150 Hedman 1 5/8 Longtube headers. I read that 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 isnt much of a difference. Anything has to be better than my Edelbrock TES headers. Those things are only 2.5" collectors, every other headers, shorty or longtube, is 3".

Thought you said you were going for the xr288 or the 294hr grind? Or are you just going to modify one of those grinds a lil bit?

L98 heads (aluminum or iron with some bowl work) will be fine with the 276hr cam..thats as big a cam you should run on stock heads.

and i will do the 236/242 288HR cam if i go with the 383, but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna stick with a 355 for now. I still havent called the machine shop to see how much clearancing will be needed with that stroke, and how much it will cost me

Re: What happened to LS racing chips??

yeah if i do a 383, i'd like to get the H beam stroker rods from eagle as i hear they fit well with standard base circle cams. plus they are strong and at about 375 for a set, thats not a bad deal. i still want forged pistons for nitrous and cast crank just cuz it will hold 500whp on spray i think

I'm just looking to do a 100 shot of nitrous end of this year with the xr288 cam. I'm pretty sure I have those rods but i gotta double check. I should be ok with a 100 shot on hyperneumatics right?

i have the 113 vette heads, with tons of work done to them. 18 hours of porting and polishing, bigger valves machined in, the valves are manley stainless race valves with a 30 degree backcut, 3 angle valve job, zz9 springs good to .550 lift
