I emailed tony the other day to make sure that the hood would be shipped out today since there freight company does pick ups once a week. I got a email from tony saying that it was shipped out on Friday. Well sure enough i received the hood today. The condition of the hood was excellent and i couldnt ask for anything more as far as the quality goes. Tony did a great job on getting the hood out to me like he said he would. All in all from the time i ordered it to the time i received it was less than two weeks. I feel really bad for you guys that havent received the products that you ordered but the quality of it is worth the wait. |

Car: 1989 GTA Engine: 5.0 TPI Transmission: T-5 WC Axle/Gears: Yukon 3.73 | Re: North Country Fiberglass My aerowing arrived today. It was inspected by my auto body shop who indicated it was good. There is a small chip at the end of the spear due to the aerowing sliding around in the box during transit. The body shop indicated they would address this for no charge. I think some styrofoam or cardboard corners in the shipping box to hold the aerowing in place would address this. Maybe things are starting to turn around at North Country; however, we will only know that for sure as others post their experiences and a positive trend develops. I have advised VISA to cancel my dispute as I have accepted the aerowing from North Country. I hope other peoples situation with North Country gets resolved quickly and they get what they paid for and North Country rebuilds their reputation. A start in this direction has been made with me and smokefan.

Car: 1986 Pontiac Firebird S/E Engine: 305 carb'd V8 Transmission: 4-speed auto Axle/Gears: Stock | Re: North Country Fiberglass Sorry I haven't posted in a long time on this one guys but I'm saddened to see this is still an ongoing problem with these people. I can tell you that my ordeal took somewhere around 6-7 months.
I fortunately did get my money back. I was also fortunate to get some product which was better then none. I got the hood and that's what matters most. Yes, the fit left a little to be desired. I spent hours adjusting everything from headlights to fenders to get it somewhat decent. Could never get it straight. Finally had to put hoodpins on to keep the hood down flush with the fenders. No biggee, looks cool anyway.
Anywho, this is step one. Most of you have done this which is to constanly harass them. Make sure you save a copy of every email you send and they send (if any) and write down the time and date of all phone convos. When that fails, place the claim with your CC co. after 30 days has passed. They will temporarily issue you a credit. In my case, these as$holes told my CC company that they sent my stuff and the CC company was so stupid they didn't bother to read that the order said the decals and airbox were backordered. Needless to say I had to fight with my CC company too, but don't give up. I repeated this process alot faxing them countless letters with all the emails, phone records, pictures of their website with the prices and pointing out their screw-ups.
Next step is to report them to the BBB of their state. At the time it was CT instead of VT. Whatever. Then report them to badbusiness.com to do a little websmearing. Once the BBB has informed you that they have failed to communicate with them, then file your complaint with the Attorney General's office of their state.
I was lucky that at least I finally got someone compitent at my CC co.'s office and since I did receive the hood and could prove, thanks to their website the price of the hood, they refuned me (finally) the amount for the the grills, decals, airbox and even shipping. Victory!!!! Took over 180+ days, but victory!!!!! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give in and give up. I hope this provides a little more guidance to all. These are tough economic times so every cent counts. Especially with our prides and joys.

My body guy didnt like it as much as i did. He pointed out all the flaws it had. I also had to cut the underside of the hood since it was molded to fit a 14" round air cleaner and i am runnning a stealth ram. I had to do some triming. |

Car: racing on jackstands in Pensacola!! | Re: North Country Fiberglass it's hard to get a good quality hood anyway, much less when you deal with this kind of stuff. I'm going to the shop to check mine out this morning and see how bad it is. I figured it would be wavy enough to make me seasick........ most of them are!! |

Car: racing on jackstands in Pensacola!! | Re: North Country Fiberglass OK, I unboxed the hood yesterday and as a whole will give it a %75 for quality. It was very rough cut around the edges and corners and the gelcoat process REALLY needs to have more attention. Not sure if it's the mold itself or just the cleaning process before they spray the gelcoat but it's good enough to work with I suppose. It'll proobably take 5 or 6 hours of work to make it what I want for my car but it's better than nothig at all and I like the look WAY better than the harwood 4" I had before. I'll try to get a pic on here if I get the chance. All in all it's a nice "looking" hood. Good enough to wait since June I'm not sure but at least Tony got it to me. |

Car: racing on jackstands in Pensacola!! | Re: North Country Fiberglass I think I'm going to do the same to mine because with the LSx swap I'm really not sure exactly where the air cleaner is going to be. It's really not needed anyway I guess. The finish is bad enough on the gelcoat to where it's probably going to cost $500 to have it smoothed and painted to match the car. Good thing my 92 still has original paint huh?? |

The bodyshop here said it was the best fiberglass hood they ever installed. A shame that you guys are having all of these problems...

It's a shame what they have become. Even as half-a$s as my hood is, it still looks really really good. |

Car: 1989 GTA Engine: 5.0 TPI Transmission: T-5 WC Axle/Gears: Yukon 3.73 | Re: North Country Fiberglass The aerowing is painted and on the GTA and I thought I would provide my final comments now that this project is complete. The body shop indicated they have seen much worse damage than the few nicks in mine so I guess that is not too bad. They were impressed by the quality of the fibreglass work. The aerowing sides do not fit exactly flush with the metal deck of the hatch; however, with some work they lessened the gap between the aerowing and the metal deck. I got the shop to install a foam rubber pad between the aerowing and the metal deck to act a gasket like that under the center tail light. This further lessened the gap. This gap between the aerowing and the metal deck the shop attributed to the mould that produced the aerowing. So for $340 plus shipping you get a pretty good replacement aerowing, not perfect, but a pretty darn good replacement unit. But then I am a very detailed orientated person. I also like the substantially reduced weight such that when I release the hatch from inside the car the hatch raises by itself. The heavy OEM rubber unit had to be manually lifted off the pull down motor unless it was a hot summer day. |
