G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

I am looking to buy a Ram Air II Hood from them for my 88 trans am, I was wondering if anybody has dealt with them in the past and has an opinion to share regarding the company or their hoods. How is the construction of the hood?? Overall is it ok to spend the 400 on the hood or should i get one from ramairhoods.com who charge 850? Thanks in advance

GT fiberglass was recently bought out by north county fiberglass, heres their website www.northccountryfiberglass.com

but my Ram Air II hood is from GT Fiberglass, and so far (couple months) I think its great quality.

does it have any steel reinforcements in it to support the hood at all? Since im looking to get that same exact hood any and all information (such as fit) would be greatly appreciated.

and to the poster above what were the general complaints?

I'm not sure if it has any metal reinforcements but judging by how light it is I doubt it.

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

I emailed north country a day or two about a 5 inch jongbloed hood for my camaro and i havent heard anything back yet. I hope their hoods arent too bad they are the only ones that make the jongbloed hood and its the best hood for a 82-92 camaro by far.

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

Yeah these guys suck big time. I ordered a spoiler for my 86 Ta. The mounting holes wont even line up to bolt the thing on the car. I called the next day to return it they said it was fine that i could come up on friday afternoon to return the spoiler for cash. I went there and the place was closed and now they wont even pick up the phone. I called the BBB and the becon falls police and they cant do anything to help me. STAY AWAY. The best thing is these fools are in my car club so i cant wait to see them at a show and beat my $300 out of them.

Look up the URL registration.....I think G&T simply renamed themselves because of their BAD reputation.

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

this is very dissapointing, i would like to believe it is a fresh rep being under new ownership but this is not a good way to start out. And if they are simply rehashing the name.. then that is 10000x worse. where else could i get a hood in that price range???

What a LOSER! Tries to pretend the company was sold, when he simply renamed it. I trust him even LESS now! Changed from a P.O. box to a street address...Big deal!

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

I just got a reply email from Jim at G&T/ North Country about the 5 inch jongbloed for camaros. Before I knew they had just changed their name I had asked if they had acquired the mold because the hood wasnt listed on the site. Apparently the mold is in need of repair (perhaps why there arent any good pics of the 5inch ANYWHERE if you have one sent it to me) He said it should be repair in the next couple months. Now I just wonder about the quality and if I should trust them........

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

just my two cents but i have the ram air hood and 4th gen spoiler from them and it bolted right up with no problems, ya i had to drill new holes for the spoiler but their templet was easy to use. i cannot complane with the construction. i would buy from them again. jeff

Re: G&T Fiberglass - Hoods

I bought a gen 3 ram air hood and filter kit from them. The hood is over an inch out of square and slops under the fender curve bad. I e-mailed them and got a responce of how to install the hood .So I sent pics of how far off it was. I was told I must have stored it wrong and it warped. So my reply was it was on the car and never fit....... No more responce!
So I sent an e-mail to the "NEW COMPANY" today I will let you know what happens

I'm a vendor of hoods and spoilers, and based on what i've seen with others that used to have accounts with them, the owner of G&T would just quit answering his phone, and pop up like 6 months later ready for orders. Very strange. but everything they offer is made by others as well. i have the hoods and spoilers they sell as well. www.restoreandcustom.com

Interesting how, after criticizing G&T for lack of response, a month later, and HE won't respond to me....
