Hey man I would like to know where you bought the kit for your r ide, I'm retarded when it comes to finding parts like that
You can pick up the harness pigtail to fit the H4 style bulb at Autozone. You'll just have to ask for a "Hi-Temp H4 Pigtail" the guys that work there should know what you're talking about. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...uestid=1536075
You'll have to swap the wires around a bit when you crimp in the new pigtails. I found the 'converted' wire diagram on this forum somewhere, unfortunately I cannot remember where. I would actually take the suggestion from here http://www.thirdgen.org/headlightupgrade
and make a new light harness to handle the H4 and if you wanted to eventually convert over to a HID system.
Also, I'd stay away from the so called "projection style" conversion lights on ebay and other places. They don't put out much if any light. You can't even really tell that your light are on with those.
I picked up these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT off of ebay and are currently using them.
They work quite nicely, only down side is that you can only use the 55/65w max H4 bulb since the backing is like a ABS or PVC plastic material.
Hope that helped out.

I have the APC 4 light H4 Conversion kit which IIRC is discontinued. It says it will withstand up to 100watt bulbs. In which case I have bulbs that are 90low/100high. Ill probably never use the high beams. Still needs to be installed though.

a true hid projector kit, like the canadian guy with the really cool camaro has is over a grand
or u can do like 84_1le guy did i believe. spend about 400 on the projectors and hid kit, buy the h4 conversion housings and mount the projectors in there.
I took some pictures of the harness installed. I didnt think of taking any while I was installing it. There is a picture of the relays, then I have a couple pictures of the headlights working.
Note: To those who want to try and be funny I know my car is not a Camaro. This is a 1977 Buick Lesabre which the 1977-79 Buick lesabre's have been one of my dream cars. I also hope to own a 1982-92 Chevy Camaro convertible someday. Atleast I will have the practice on what I need for the headlights for my Camaro.
Once again thanks guys for all the help.
Scott
edit: got everything worked out. put in silverstar ultra bulbs. cant wait til night time

I just recently purchased this kit on ebay and it came in today!. There are A LOT of these available for those interested. I searched 1992 camaro and all sorts of stuff came up.
Can you post pics of these mounted? How do you control where these aim? I ahvent seen my car in months due to it being at the body shop and yea its taking a lot longer than it should but anyways, I want to make sure this is an easy bolt in install...
I'll post pics of what I received in the next day or so...
I personally don't recommend any Halogen H4 bulbs for the ebay H4 headlights that are more than 55W/65W. I ran the 80W/100W H4 bulbs and melted the black rubber seal on the back to the base of the H4 bulb. When I removed the bulb I also had to remove part of the seal since it was stuck to the bulb. Since the seal was damaged after replacing the bulb, water was leaking into the headlight fixture, causing new bulbs to blow up. I also think some of the glue or silicon that holds the glass part on to the headlight fixture may have melted also.
Just a warning fellas. This was in a firebird 82-90 headlight setup though.

I agree. After looking at these housings they seem like they will melt in a heartbeat if you get too hot. I wonder it may be worth it to just replace the back half with a better material. we'll see how bright these 55W/65W h4's are, which i am sure is probably like factory maybe a hair whiter...
My kit came with these little blue bulbs that go into the bottom of the headlight housings... not sure what they do
anyone have any idea? I also got darker turn signal housings. The actual plastic is darker so its not like a tint that will flake off. Not bad.
Those little bulbs are city lights or cruising lights. Basically there to do the same thing as when you turn just your marker lights (Running lights) on but not the headlights.
I am using 90W/100W Nokia Bulbs with APC's H4 100W harness. I dont plan to use the high beams, just the 90W lows. I purchased my housings from another vendor (unsure who the vendor was, bought them more than a year ago) and have to say mine are much better looking and by looking would say are 100x stronger than the ones shown above. I will take pictures when I get home. Mine also have those little bulbs in the housing in which I replaced with red LED's and will have them hooked to the old fog light switch (as I don't use fog lights) and run them when cruising around or at a show. Give a nice red tint and evil look to my front end.

Cool Thanks. Def. post pics. We'll see how these turn out and if they really turn out to be total POS then... worst comes to worst get high quality housings.

Reason: Added pictures
This picture shows the only thing I thought was bad, but I checked with a level if the piece was straight and it was, so maybe it just looks like there is a space. Either way I will be sealing these myself with some clear silicone, just in case.

Unsure of material but when I tap it with my knuckles it sounds pretty solid, but that doesn't say much about a heat reaction to it. Yours looked like it is chromed on the housing or some type of cheap thin plastic? I will check tomorrow on the housings and see if it has any markings of some sort, hitting the gym, then bed.

Yea i just checked mine. It is a plastic back half. Not sure how think and it is either painted silver on the back or that is the material. Feels strong... I could probably drop it from a few feet up and be ok, but im not about to do that lol.... the heat is gonna be the problem if I feel like going brighter.

look all the same as the ebay ones...sh!tty. good luck..they suck. wont fit right. return upon arrival
From what is looks like in the pictures it looks like it has that silver housing so it may be similar to mine. But, let us know, I'd like to know if its a metal or hard plastic back housing.
I really dont think we will find a metal due to the cost of production. Metal housings would be very expensive, especially since there isnt a huge demend

Gonna have to try and see these in a store because all these lights always talk about glass/quartz lenses but never anything about the back half of the housing which is usually always plastic. Im gonna be the first to experiment by sticking a xenon kit on my housings lol... hopefully they dont melt right away. this wont happen for months though

Mine also came with the standard blue light which people call city driving lights. I like to refer to them as GHOST LIGHTS. When I hooked them up I liked them at first but then I bought spark blue led lights (194) and replaced the standard filament bulb, I was more amazed at the color and light output. Now my 4 headlight system has changed again. I feared being pulled over for the spark blue ghost lights. I changed the high beam to amber leds and left the regular headlights with the spark blue led light installed. When the headlights are turned on it drowns out the spark blue. Here are some pictures of the leds. Sorry I dont have a picture of the headlights drowning out the blue spark lights. I do have a video on cardomain of the ghost lights and the headlights drowning them out. my user name on there is the same as this forum.

That a 79 buick Lesabre? My mom had one of those when i was little. Great friggin car and if optioned right...had a 403 olds motor. Ours unfortunately had just the 301/305/307 (cant remember it was one of those). Slow but reliable.

Well the pictures are from two different cars but they are both 1977 Buick LeSabre's. My mom owned one when I was a little boy and I always wanted one (just like I want a 82-92 camaro amongst other dream cars of mine). I had a 79 my father bought me which was a 2 door and I wanted a 4 door. After repainting and restoring the interior I sold it. A few months later I got the silver 77 Buick Lesabre 4door from Chicago for $300. Many problems with that one due to a previous owner dumping the car in a body of water. I was not given this information I discovered it all myself. I ended up maybe a month later getting the green 77 Buick LeSabre from Sheboygan Wisconsin for $125 in much better condition then the silver one. They are both 301 which I really dont mind how much power a car has. I like the car for the looks not the engine. Although the green one I discovered after replacing the waterpump and getting her started, it has a blown head gasket. The engine runs really nice and quiet dispite the white smoke pouring out of the exhaust. It will be a bit till I get that fixed so in the mean time I have been doing cosmetic changes like the lights and standard bulbs to led lights. I plan on changing the color of the green car inside and out. When I get that one finished then I will begin a complete overhaul of the silver one. Everything needs to be replaced on the silver car.
Little bit of a subject change but. How did you guys hook up your city lights did you wire them in with the parking lights or just another switch? I was thinking of wiring them into the turn signals anyone done this ?
So, in short, housings (moded if needed), H4 or H1 bulbs (if you housing can take it), and Matrix harness (rearranged to fit H4 or H1 bulbs) should do the trick. Is this correct?
Other that the fact that the Matrix harness is set up for H4 bulbs, does the tech section article harness pretty much do the same thing (that is, allowing for higher drain without meltdown by drawing power straight from the battery and using bigger wire)?
This is a good thread as I started out looking for new front turn signal lights and these front head lights caught my attentions also! Anyone does anyone know how the H4's bulbs would compare with the Silverstars in brighness? I already have the Sliverstars and I am pretty happy with them, but I'm thinking about getting these same housings.
I think that might vary and depend. My buddy bought a set for his truck (96 sonoma) and it uses the same housings as my camaro and over time the bulbs that came with the set dimmed out to the point that it was hardly reflecting on his bumper let alone the pavement. So he bought a kit that set him right off the battery for power to his lights and it brought them back out. He put a set of silverstars in it and he loves it.
that looks just like the kit I have with the smoked side markers. But mine also came with smoked turn signal housings. I think all of these will be the same plastic housing that everyone is afraid of melting. It will be too costly to make metal housings because they will not sell due to higher prices.
Until someone tries to run a hotter bulb we really wont know if these things will melt or not. Soooo who wants to try lol

Yeah I wired them in with my parking lights. I have never heard or seen anyone hooking them up and using them as blinkers. This might also be a neat idea. Please let us know what you do and if you make them blinkers please post a video so we can see. Thanks!
