I finally found a Company that is worse than Hawks for Customer Service, WOW....... I didn't think it was possible.
I ordered some things from Year One 7 weeks ago, and of course they immediatley charged my Credit Card, and sent an invoice that said allow 1-4 weeks for shipping.
So I wait, and wait, and wait........After 5 weeks I try to contact them via Email, after a few days Nothing, So I call the Customer Service number, give them my order number and they tell me that someone will have to call me back? WTF is that all about?
And to this day, I still have heard NOTHING!
SO I am going to file a claim with my CC Company, and go elsewhere for my items.
F U Year One!
Now Hawk's is my #2 to avoid, Year One is #1

Only went through Yearone because they have bilstein front struts cheaper than Summit and about everybody else. About $100 cheaper for the set.
First off, the big 15% off Memorial Day Year One Promotion Sale couldn't be used on the struts. The struts were exempt or something from sales/rebates. Thats kind of ridiculous, the only parts I'll ever need to buy from them and the 15% off can't be used on them.
Next, they were having some issues with my credit cards but thats somewhat my fault because of my billing/shipping addresses on the cards. So, after a couple emails and about 3 long phone calls we got it all straightened out. It would have been so much easier if they would have had a paypal setup like Summit, Spohn, TDS, and UMI does.
Third, get the email that my order has been processed. I notice that it says please allow 1 to 4 weeks for your order to arrive. This information would have been useful to know before I ordered. I'm alright with waiting a couple weeks but if I really would have needed these parts in a week this would have pissed me off. I might have considered spending the extra money and gone through summit and at least had the parts in 3 days.
Its been about 4 weeks now. I think I'm going to call them. Getting a claim doesn't sound that bad either. Not buying from them again. I better not have to wait 7 weeks like you did and you didn't even get your parts yet.
After 5 weeks and no parts showing up, I decided to send an email. Turns out they forgot to tell me (until they replied to my email) that they no longer carry the parts since their vender doesn't supply them. At least they never charged me money though. So, if I would have never bugged them, they would have NEVER told me my order was canceled.
Ive ordered from Hawks before and everything came quickly and well packed.
And doesent Year One have those aweome awesome gold mesh rims? I remember I looked at those rims on their site a while ago, were really expensive, but nice. Thats the only item I saw on their site that interested me.
I have usually never had too much of a problem with Year One. I am currently having a problem with GMPARTSDIRECT.COM. I sent an order out for a 3 bar Map sensor. I found that I can order through another site full-race.com, I can get the Map & plug almost $20 cheaper w/ shipping included. I additionally ordered my PLX WBo2 and gauge through full-race.com. I then cancelled the order with GMPARTSDIRECT.COM by Email 1 hour later. I was charged $87.00 for the map sensor through my credit card 2 days after that. I wrote them 2 additional Email's explaining everthing to them and asking them to promptly refund my CC. I typed in the order number and it was cancelled / Not Shipped. They don't have a listed Telephone number so you can't actually talk to anyone. They say this is to help keep prices down. In actuality the prices are already higher than I can get at my local GM Dealership where I live. This is currently NO# 2 on my list right behind hawks.

I also had a problem with gmpartsdirect.com. They are just plain sorry.
They don't have a phone to call them and all you can do is email them. Well I needed to replace the air dam on my C5 but of course OEM parts names are different then what we call them out in the real world. I emailed them and emailed them because well, at the time they didn't have pictures to go by and they told me that what I had asked for was correct.
Well when I got the parts they were not. I told them and they quickly replied to me that that is what I had ordered and that these parts were non-returnable. I told them that they misinformed me and they never replied back. Finally I told them I would complain to the BBB of their state and they told me they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. So I told them yes there was,.....to take me off of their mailing list because it would be the last thing I would buy from them again. They never replied.
Luckily I was able to sell the wrong parts on Ebay, break even and buy the correct ones from someone else for the same price they were selling them for.
I never had a problem with anyone with parts delivery, or condition. I just can't get GMPARTSDIRECT.COM to refund the money after I cancelled the order. Especally since the parts were never shipped. To date, 2 months have gone by, I have emailed them 10+ times and I still have not been refunded. You would think they would have a phone number.

I already have my doubts set for them right before I bought my latest struts back home. I will never get caught on their cheap struts bait
Try calling the below dealership below. Great prices. Purchased fuel injectors for my 89 Firebird (8) at $104 each (plus shipping). GM parts direct wanted the full list price of $181.00 each. Got them in 4 days.

Guys I bought a headliner (with sun visors and sail panels) from year one (great quality by the way) and I didn't think there was enough material for the sun visors. I called them and they said no problem we'll send you another one right away free of charge no questions asked. So if that isn't good customer service I don't know what is.
It's like anything I figure, good days and bad days. Not saying your a jerk but it also depends on your attitude at the time.
Yea, It was allot. Had my local Pontiac dealer install them. Pretty happy with the results and the warranty from both GM for the injectors and Pontiac for the work is very good. Car runs like a top! I'm happy. Thanks for the info you posted on the injectors but I still would rather go with the GM parts. If money ever becomes an issue with the bird, I'll look into Racetronix.
Well I have attempted to order some ground effects for my 91 Z28 from year one. It was in thier print catalog and all I got was attitude from the person saying they don't carry that and only GM carries it. -Yea ok... everyone knows its discontinued and why wouldn't they have it if GM had it? Duh!.... Sorta turned off at that point.
I called Classic Industries..and got my parts from Classic Industries.... fabulous... quick easy... pleasant. Part go here in VA from CA via truck frieght in 3 days!
My wife ordered some interior parts for my Grand National from year one... came in quick, right, the one part on back order was notified immediately, they called, and sent post cards EVERY WEEK with an update. The MAF hose did take 7 weeks to get here... I called after week 6, they called the vendor, called me back in less than a day, had the part 3 days later.
So it not always ALL bad... I will give them another shot personally since they did so well this last time... oh and they also gave me another 10% off my TOTAL ORDER next online order for the inconvience!
