9bolt.com review, yes...its back! And under new management!
I recently started doing a LOT of work to my car. Heads/Cam/tune/Exhaust, and a bunch of other stuff. It became time that I NEEDED to get rid of my 3.45 gears in trade for a set of 4.10s or so.
I started off looking at aftermarket rear axles. I didn't want to drop over $2000 in an axle.....frankly, I didn't have it to spend!
Thats when I remembered 9bolt.com. I remember looking at the site years ago and reading on here that it was run by some guy named Miles. It seemed nobody had any luck with Miles returning emails unless they got lucky and he felt like it.
About 6 months ago I sent a message through the site and I got an email back from a guy named Glenn Verdins. He told me that he had taken over the site. He apparently deals with gears full time, but 9bolt.com is a little stuff he does on the side for busy work. He said he is fully stocked and ready to answer your questions and take your orders!
He gave me pricing on everything I asked, and stated that it was all available.
About a month and a half ago, the time came for me to make my purchase. I'd decided to try and order a set of 4.11 gears for my 9 bolt, and while I was at it I decided to get a set of bearings from him, and a new set of posi cones. He sent me an itemized invoice via paypal and within a week I paid him. Here were the prices:
Used 4.11 gearset: $180
Timken Master Bearing set: $100
2 new posi cones: $154
Shipping: $115
Total: $549
Two days later he mailed the package. 3 days later it arrived in California from Australia. The only hold up was customs. They had my package for about 5 weeks
I received my box on Friday. The box was destroyed The contents seem to have survived though. There are a couple small chips on the gears but nothing that will cause a problem I don't think.
It seems I'm missing a pinion seal from the box. Possibly from the rough handling the box got in transit. I'm currently talking with Glenn about the condition of the gears and getting a partial refund to cover the cost of the pinion seal which is around $30.
So far, its been a good transaction. He has been open and honest with everything, and has been more than helpful!
If you can get around a possible wait due to customs, and some higher than normal shipping costs (these parts ARE coming from across the planet, folks...) then I say give 9bolt.com a try!

I was looking at making a pretty much identical purchase to yours. Thanks for the write-up, I may be placing an order shortly!

you can get all of the bearings/seals/shims from ratech as well they are based out of the US. However it is good to know you can get gear sets and posi cones from this guy now.

Good deal man, glad to hear that site is working and we can get 9 bolt stuff. I got rid of my 9 bolt stuff years ago, but wish i still had it in working condition as its stronger than the 10 bolt for the most part, and i've been in the 10's with the 10 bolt.
