It's a shame, because they make the best roller rockers. I've ran their gold series race roller rockers for years in several different motors!

Re: Crane Cams Demise Official

Many are quick to blame the economy, but I would point my finger at bad management and as many have stated Crane's lack of customer service and custom grinds taking way to long. Any well run company should survive this bump in the road and come back even stronger, in the end it's survival of the fittest.

two doa 6al boxes before i said ****em and went with crane. i suppose if you spend the money and go with the 7al or gold box it might be better. had a buddy running a 6al and his car kept running like **** when he started hitting the top end, couldn't figure it so a guy at the track lentus a gold box, through it in and the car ran like a champ. from what i've seen there not worth there weight in ****. thats just me though. i also hate there pills for rev limiters instead of incorporating in into the box with a dial like other companies. there are other complaints that people have about them, but then people have good luck with them to. its all in the eye of the beholder. i had no luck with them so i just dont like them.

Re: Crane Cams Demise Official

Hey guys I just thought I'd post this up, I just picked up the July '09 issue of car craft, and on page 18 in the 7 second reads section they mention that although Crane has laid off it's employees and closed up shop, there's supposedly a pretty strong rumor that the company is just restructuring and will be reopening eventually.

Of course this could all be strictly rumor, but I thought you guys should hear it.

Re: Crane Cams Demise Official

I read that too, however they also mentioned GM keeping Pontiac as a niche brand and we all know that's not the case anymore. I think, by the time they get their magazine published it's old news.

Well it would be nice if they keep everything in Daytona. I am sure there are a lot of hard working people that would love to have their job back.

Re: Crane Cams Demise Official

the demise of crane cams brings a tear to my eye . i grew up in the south fla. area called w.hollywood , very close to halendale where crane cams was born . they were located along dixie hwy. on the west side , south of hollywood . anyway i joined the air force then , i had a " T " shirt that said Cranes Crazy Cams . after i got stationed in southern california , other servicemen laughed at my " T " shirt . Then BIG DADDY , Don Garlits with SWAMP RAT came to so.cal . . he kicked arse , no more laughs , everyone wanted to know more about crane cams . Long Live BIG DADDY , farewell crane cams , you will be in my thoughts forever . the CEO's killed you not the people .
