My Summit story.

I ordered most of my stuff from Summit for my H/C/I swap. I get my polished HSR, and it has a slight wave on the side of it. I called Summit, they said send it back. I got my new one in 2 days.

I'm getting ready to fire the car up soon. I prime my system before I finish everything else up. And my Holley AFPR leaks (surprise, surprise). I call Summit, they said they will send me a new one. I get it in one day.

I then realize my father sent my old AFPR back with a piece of my fuel system on it I need (the elbow that connect the fuel line to the AFPR). I call Summit, and say the one we sent back has an extra piece on it we forgot to take off. He says "Ok, I'll send it back to you, and I'll even over night it for no charge".

AWESOME place to deal with. I will continue to buy from them.

Re: My Summit story.

Summit is crazy awesome. Beat a price guarantee, Same day shipping, At your house in 3 days MAX, Overnight replacement, Open 7 days a week, Tech support

And they only have 3 facilities in the USA.

Only thing I wish they could speed up was backordered parts. Sometimes waiting the 2 weeks they state is soooo long because I'm used to 1 day shipping (Glad their close to me). Other than that no problems at all.

Re: My Summit story.

I personally have done thousands of dollars worth of business with Summit Racing. I have spoken with Summit's company reps on different occasions. They've ALWAYS bent over backward doing their absolute best to represent Summit in a advantageous light. I have no hesitations, nor reservations in purchasing "go fast" parts from Summit Racing again. One good company.

I basically ordered my entire engine worth's of parts. Also ordered bushings, and misc other stuff from them. They're the best to do business with.

Re: My Summit story.

They are the best. Normally have the best prices, fastest shipping, great tech support, take care of any problems. They have what seems to be missing in today's world something called "customer service". I have spent thousands there and have never had a bad transaction.

Only time i use Jegs is if summit doesn't carry the part or have it on hand. Jegs is pretty good too but almost all of their items are a few cents or dollars more then summit.

Summits the best! I would hate to own a speed shop trying to compete against them. I had an MSD box that went bad on the very last day of the warranty. I called, no questions asked, they sent a replacement out that day. I sent the bad one back at my convienence and they paid all shipping.

I agree.....they have always been 100% and I have spent thousands there. I remember one time I bought one of thier fuel filters from them when I was on the poor side. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the Fram unit. They thought they might have a defect in some of them, so they sent me a new Fram unit without me asking. That sold me.....!

Re: My Summit story.

I bought a Lifetime warranty pair of headers from Summit years ago for my daily driven truck. One day a piece of the collector blew out I called them and explained what happened and this was my DD they shipped me a new pair and a call tag to ship the old ones back. They didn't even balk about the patch I temp welded over the hole. I continuously use them. Great people

Re: My Summit story.

i live in canada and its cheaper for me to buy parts from summit and get it shipped to me then it is to buy locally. i just wish they had more retail locations, you know, one in canada 95% of the parts i buy come from summit. not once has there been a problem.

Re: My Summit story.

Yea... there awesome! I just ordered my cat-back exhaust system yesterday and it'll be here tomorrow. (wish i could make UPS as fast as summits shipping department.) I even ordered it late last nite. If I would've ordered before 4 I probably would've got it today! And I live in Southern Indiana.
Only once did I ever have a problem.. I ordered their brand cat back exhaust for my 2001 ext cab silverado. It fit like crap. It was labeled right on the box. But I don't think it was right. But I got it on sale... with barely anything for shipping... it was around $100 buks. I bet if I called and complained they would've done anything they could to make it right. Very awesome buisness!!!!

Re: My Summit story.

fedex once mixed up two packages that i shipped. My summit return went to a guy on here and my condenser i was sending to the guy on here went to them. They emailed me wondering why i sent them a condenser with no paperwork. I called them and talk to the head of returns, he shipped the condenser out for me and i was able to get fedex to pick up the summit return from the customer...

really good people over there

Re: My Summit story.

I'm another happy Summit customer. I've been buying from them for years and never had a problem. Their online tech department is pretty good too.

They'll usually answer a question within a day. There shipping is pretty quick too and reasonable. The only company I can think of better to deal with is Tirerack. Tirerack is another one that'll call you within two minutes of placing an online order just to make sure that's what you want. Onetime when they call it was to tell me that they were withholding my order because the tired I ordered was a snowtire and I had no need for one in So. Fla. That was my dumba$s fault for not paying attention but they sent me out a regular tire that sameday upon confirmation.

I have a commercial account with them and love it. get parts cheaper and tax free (until I "sell" them) I live 40 mins away and the only issue is that I cant order through the store only online or phone, but I can pay for it and pick it up there . Give em an A!

Re: My Summit story.

well i will give you my experience.
yesterday after i called competition products then called summit and ordered a timing chain set. paid with my atm. arrived today while i was out to lunch.
competition products told me on online sale - they did not like my address. called the number - they said dont worry. only 114.00 anyway. everything was just fine.
competition called me this morning and told me they could not ship it but they had charged my atm account for the product. told them to ship when they got the money.

went to use the card this afternoon - first two purchases went fine then a big red no.

competion products - in order to make up for not sending me what they charged me for, decided to charge me a second time for the order they wont ship.

and summit only gave me a 20.00 gift certificate. gee i wish summit would charge me twice for the same product and not send it too.

i guess we all cant be lucky all the time.

Re: My Summit story.

Tony I looked into your account and what I found out was that your billing information did not match your shipping information, there for the order was not processed on our end, what your seeing are pending charges you were not charged for the product. You then tried to order the part over the phone and your info still failed to match your information, nothing was processed on our end and you were not charged another pending charge. Because you are a first time customer with us all this information must match to help us keep costs down with the constant fight of credit card fraud. In our down economy this has been an increasing problem and I guarentee Jegs and Summit have this problem also. I appoligize for the inconvience but it is company policy. If you see charges pending on your account they will drop off in 48 -72 hours depending on your financal institution.
Also before you bad mouth a company on a message board explain the whole story, there are two sides to every situation.

as of the time of writing this your conduct is still resulting in my bank account being charged for 228.00. but here is the emails - so there is no doubt.

my response.

i guess they are in full defensive mode. like the old russian response when someone borrowed something and brought it back broken.
1. i never borrowed it.
2. i returned it unbroken.
3. it was broken when you loaned it to me.

all three responses are generally given in one long breath - CP has now learned how to do it.

no matter what they say, when push comes to shove im still out 228.00 and dont have the parts.

so here it is my response:

Well since as you stated "this happens all the time" your system needs updating. and no i did not order a 2nd time. i called to ask what was happening - after following your instructions on the web page. i responded to the lady at the number i was directed to call with the information she asked for.
and the fact that your representative told me before the weekend that there had never been 2 two orders, and denied there was any way for my bank to show two charges, when there was only one, indicated that i was wrong. i guess that those statements by him are no longer correct.
you have no idea how i intend to bad mouth you. i intend to tell the truth.
i intend to say a lot and i will post this entire e-mail - including your lies included in your response.
and no, i dont think i will buy from you, even though i intended to do so until i spoke with you. you telling me how i did something wrong resulting in you charging my account twice was a big laugh. i tried to just set that aside but now i know what kind of company i am dealing with. i dont think i will even do it by cashiers check.
and preventing my atm account from having access to 228.00 on an 114.00 order which you will not ship, seems to be one heck of a way to greet new customers.
there are lots of businesses in this world and even more that sell parts.
this is one person who will never be a customer.
no further communications will be received from you - your emails are now blocked.

this is my last comment on this topic about cp. use them if you want i dont care. but that was my experience.

If you see charges pending on your account they will drop off in 48 -72 hours depending on your financal institution.
Also before you bad mouth a company on a message board explain the whole story, there are two sides to every situation.
Best Regards
Nick Rinehart

my response.

i guess they are in full defensive mode. like the old russian response when someone borrowed something and brought it back broken.
1. i never borrowed it.
2. i returned it unbroken.
3. it was broken when you loaned it to me.

all three responses are generally given in one long breath - CP has now learned how to do it.

no matter what they say, when push comes to shove im still out 228.00 and dont have the parts.

so here it is my response:

Well since as you stated "this happens all the time" your system needs updating. and no i did not order a 2nd time. i called to ask what was happening - after following your instructions on the web page. i responded to the lady at the number i was directed to call with the information she asked for.
and the fact that your representative told me before the weekend that there had never been 2 two orders, and denied there was any way for my bank to show two charges, when there was only one, indicated that i was wrong. i guess that those statements by him are no longer correct.
you have no idea how i intend to bad mouth you. i intend to tell the truth.
i intend to say a lot and i will post this entire e-mail - including your lies included in your response.
and no, i dont think i will buy from you, even though i intended to do so until i spoke with you. you telling me how i did something wrong resulting in you charging my account twice was a big laugh. i tried to just set that aside but now i know what kind of company i am dealing with. i dont think i will even do it by cashiers check.
and preventing my atm account from having access to 228.00 on an 114.00 order which you will not ship, seems to be one heck of a way to greet new customers.
there are lots of businesses in this world and even more that sell parts.
this is one person who will never be a customer.
no further communications will be received from you - your emails are now blocked.

this is my last comment on this topic about cp. use them if you want i dont care. but that was my experience.
and they know about this site because i am a fair man and gave them the link.
Tony like I said in my previous post you financial instution is holding your money not us. There are reasons why we have these company policys in place because there are alot of dishonest people in this world and we need to have these security measures in place. If you lost 10s of thousands of dollars a year from fraud I guarentee you would put securitys in place also especially on first time customers.
Here again I'm sorry that it did not work out, but if you can't submit proper billing, address information I don't know how else we can help you.
Help me help you!
