i was going to order some parts fro JC Whitney for $36, and asked for a quote on shipping. how much to send a plastic and lightweight lamp to australia? try US$86, which is double the cost of the part itself!
total: $119 shipped
now, it's nice of them to hire obama to deliver it on air force one, but i'm disappointed they didn't get a real quote for shipping. i buy stuff off ebay u.s all the time and have a fair idea for shipping it out here. eg i got a quote to ship a GM car radio and that was only $40, and they are heavy by comparison.

Last year, I shipped 15lbs package to Australia for $25.You can ship 20lbs to Australia for $42 by USPS

Did they say what they are using? UPS or USPS ? I had my entire front end kit shipped from Spohn to Switzelrand for 125$ USPS and that isn't really light weight stuff.

Sounds like they use DHL or UPS.Both exspensive.USPS would be your best option.
