I've recently acquired a beautiful 91 Camaro RS that has T Tops and only 123k on the odometer...
Years ago I posted here and you guys were most helpful and informative, but this is a little out of the previous league of questions I asked. So here it goes.
There's a website for a company that goes by the name of US Warranty Services.
Now I own the following vehicles.
Said Camaro 123k
1987 Ford F150 170k
1994 Ford Explorer 170k
They said all of my vehicles are eligible for a bumper to bumper drive train/mechanical warranty with free towing and free rental for an additional 150k or 5 years, whatever comes first...as long as it is under 200k...
Now I ask you guys...just how legit are these folks? I've never really done much research, and from what I've found there are quite a few scheisters there...but honestly, I saw 4 companies advertising mechanic insurance in the same commercial break on TruTV, and Geico offers it now too...I have Allstate Insurance and they would have to rape my mother for me to leave them they've been so good to me. I know there are good companies out there, I just want to ensure this is one of them because in my line of work (paper, pizza, medical supply, foreclosure cleanouts, and courier deliveries) I use my vehicles for work ALL the time...and they break a lot...I could quit working so damn hard and use this service at any dealership to get my stuff fixed!
Let me know your opinion, especially if you folks have them...that would be sweet to know of first hand experience review.

One of these companies were on the local news the other day for targeting cell phones.Mine was called a bunch of times.It's getting out of hand.
If your handy at all and have a basic knowledge about cars and hand tools,we sell repair parts.
Get a Chiltons or Haynes manual to lean what's involved with a project.This message board is a great place to obtain information on how to fix issues too.
1) A google search of this company reveals a ton of complaints from customers. Complains are ranked almost as high as the company's own website. That's not good. The most common complaints are unreasonably high deductables not mentioned in the contract and that "bumper to bumper" is a far reach from the actual coverage.
2) The govt. has been considering regulations on these "warranty" companies for bad business practices.
3) In general, unsolicited emails and mailings are scams. Why would this company happily warranty vehicles it has no knowledge about for such a low price? Because they have no intention of honoring that warrenty.
I wish I could remember the company my best friend bought his warranty through, I'll get a hold of him and ask if he remembers. He bought the policy through the used car lot he got his turbo eclipse from, 3 months later when the trans died the replaced it no charge, if I hear from him I'll let you know.

1. They didn't call me, I called them and 5 other companies offering the same coverage. Out of the total 6 only 1 declined to cover my vehicle. These were all commercials on TV...so this was NOT a solicitation...I'm sorry I didn't note that before.
2. I wouldn't call it 'too good to be true' as I consider it to be an insurance coverage for something that was never previously offered. Geico is offering it now, and I just got off the phone with them. My vehicle is not covered, however they did say it was a popular trend coming on.
3. When you google searched them how did you do it? I am pretty handy with google and I found only information mentioning how useful they are...but no actual complaints. This is mostly what I'm trying to find if there are any bad reviews, as I've yet to find any.
I dont' know about that particular company. I used to work in the new/used car sales business. Dealers have been selling these policies for many years. These type of policies are typically very specific about what they cover, so much so that they rarely pay. If you have a claim, most of them will look at your maintenance records, looking for a loop hole to avoid payment. Typically they also refuse to pay for any work on a car that has been modified from original in any way. IF you use your car in a business, they probably will not pay for anything. Dealerships love to sell warrenty policies, because the profit margin is very good, and a large volume dealership can generate 500K to a million dollars extra profit a year by selling these extras with thier cars. That's why the Finance and Insurance dude makes a 100K a year. Generally you are better off to save the price of the premiums, and pay for your repairs as needed. Do your routine maintenance, and you will avoid many costly repairs. The only extra insurance that is costs effective is the gap coverage, that pays of the balance of your loan if you buy a car and owe more on it then it's worth. If it is totaled in an accident, they pay the difference between what Allstate will pay and the balance of your loan.
