i was picking up a new set of plugs today at our local advance . the clerk noticed my retired military I.D. . i got a 10% discount , asked him about it . he said he thought all advance auto gave them to active & retired military . hey guy's , next time you get parts at advance ask for it , if your eligible . our local Lowes also gives one , just show I.D. & ask for it . good luck .
WE have a local Advance store that gives our club members a 10% discount. If it's normal parts I usually go there but for speed parts I still go to my local speed shop!!

Advance is a good store. I get 99% of my fix parts there.

Yep, i work for advance, anybody military or retire get 10 percent, we give it so much everyday. it doesnt seem like much but its a few saved dollars or even more depending on the purchase.
I agree completely. I just stay away from the "tuner" isle.
I remember that isle with great disdain when I was working there. We had a whole isle devoted to stickers and neon stuff, but a small little end cap for SBC high performance stuff.
well all this is good to hear about my employer, and it is nice to know that people are trying to get the word out about the military discount since not many people know that anymore since not all the stores are near military
yeah, its nice to hear about us! im glad to see this thread and it wasn't something that a worker posted, gives me great pride for working there...thank you all for your kind words
Most auto parts stores give us a military discount Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys, Kragen, etc. The only one who said they didn't was an AutoZone I went to in Pueblo, Co. Don't kmow if the guy was just an idiot or if they all don't. Either way, never been back to one to find out. While we're on the subject, Jack in the Box also gives military discount!
EEEWWWW Advance auto, I hate them, I once went through 6 bad alternator from them, one bad one after another, and the good one only lasted about 1 year, also at the one by me they are complete idiots, ill stick with napa thank you very much
this post was not intended to put one parts store above another . it was just intended to show an appreciation for our military given by one store chain . it's great to hear of other stores that do the same . it has not always been true . when i came back from Viet Nam the 1st & 2nd time we were getting spit at and things thrown at us . i THANK GOD that our troops today are treated much better . anyway just an old , old gearhead venting that still does care . BTW , i still do all my own wrenching . GOD BLESS AMERICA & AND OUR TROOPS .

I forget about it most of the time when I visit the stores, our Schucks, Auto Zone give military discounts. Not sure about the NAPA store I frequent since I have a preferred customer account there. Since I'm in a military town, there are several other stores that give military discounts.
The Napa By Me Gives A Milatary discount, they also usually give me a "poor mechanics" discount because I buy so much crap from them (usually 10% off) and im broke
Almost every big business auto store has the military discount. I know NAPA has it here and so does O'Reilly Auto Parts.
Those are the only ones I go to the auto zones and advanced autos around here have terrible service and like said above are all about flash.

NAPA does also. In military towns, there are a lot of places giving military discounts that you'd be surprised do. The Arby's in Fallon does. The Taco Bell in Barstow does, etc. I always ask. Most of the time the answer is no, but sometimes I am surprised. IHOP does a 20% discount.
Advance Auto Parts also has their rewards program: 5 purchases of $20 or more gets you $20 to spend at the store. With oil changes for five vehicles, it adds up, and I use it to add "nice to have" tools. For oil, filters, waxes, etc. Advance is good.
I always buy the lifetime warranty stuff from advanced, and have never had a problem. Auto-Zone on the other hand...... I will not spend my money there. I went thru three of their "best" quality distributor caps, all of which abandoned me on the side of the road, (within a few days of installation.....) so, went to advance, got an accel gold cap, and never had another problem.
I worked for Advance Auto Parts for four years. Would probably still work there if it hadn't been for the last manager I worked for. He delighted in screwing me out of my weekends and evenings, eventually taking it too far and canceling four days vacation I had marked off 4 months before hand and not telling me about it till the week before I was to leave. He got my keys and his vacation ruined instead...
Anyways, I like the advance auto parts I've used. I had one issue with alternators about 10 years ago, but other than that their parts are all I use if I can help it. One of the local stores will price match Summit or Jegs and keeps a set of slicks in stock at all times. By the time you factor in shipping, they are usually right on par with the mail order places, and are more dependable than my local speed shops for actually ordering the parts after you've paid for them. It's a shame, but true.

Sorry that's Autozone... And all of the Pats stores around here give the military and Civil Servants a 10%. It's good buisiness, I've worked at Autozone for three years and I get 20 % of instock stuff, when I go to Advance or Pep Boys, or Carquest I get 10% for being a Vet.

how long ago did you work for advance auto? how did you have your last manger?
It's all good, and FY'allsI Autozone does have MSD and Accel, plus we can order pertronix, Weiand, pretty much anything you need. It takes a little extra work but if you bring in a part number for what you want we can get it. In all honesty, it all comes down to the guy behind the counter if he knows what he's doing it doesn't matter what store it is he should be able to take care of you.
I usually go to my local autozone. The business is no better, but the people that work there are really good people. Like one took my flex plate as a core toward a new flywheel.. i only paid 50 bucks for a new flywheel. Its small things like that.. very nice people.
wow you must be imature cause you are having to call people names, and no i am not it is still a core that can be rebuilt, and guess what i know the rules there cause i am a manager there so dont argue with me on what can be taken as a core cause i have worked for them for 4 years.
