So far, I have had a great experience with this company. Every time I have tried to contact them, they have responded within hours of sending an email, sometimes minutes. They are also very friendly and seem happy to answer any question; no matter how dumb (they demonstrated that skill with me).
They have made a modification to the Bosch design 3 injectors so they fit on a TPI fuel rail. It is similar to the one FIC has, but in my opinion SouthBay's is cleaner. They have pictures on their website www.southbayfuelinjectors.com. They also frequently post on this forum as SouthBay08, they have posted alot of info about these as well as pics. There is apparently no obstruction to flow or function of any kind. I just ordered a set of remanufactured Bosch 3's with that modification, and after shipping they cost $165. I may even have them before the weekend.
I have been shopping around and asking questions for a while now, and for my particular application (1987 iroc 5.7L TPI) this seems like the whole package; friendly, competant service, great price, and hopefully great product. I think this is definately the place to go. When I get the injectors I will post an update to the thread with pics and such. I almost forgot, SouthBay is also a TGO Sponsor. Thanks again SouthBay.

After about 2000 miles on injectors from South Bay, I have no complaints. My 1991 Z28 5.7 engine has not skipped a beat. I will definitely recommend thier Bosch III's to any third gen owner. They even sent me a nice pen with my order, great to do business with. Randy
Hey that's great, I got a hat with mine. I'm glad to hear your set is working out, I feel even better about my order now. I just recieved it this afternoon, a day earlier than expected. Still no complaints. The packaging was great and the injectors are in pristine condition. There are barely even any marks on them from when they were pulled from the original vehicle. I really like the adaptor for the TPI fuel rail as well. Here are a few close-up pics of the injectors:
So to conclude the above three posts, I have had a very positive experience with SouthBay. They even contacted me today to see if I received my injectors yet. I ordered Wednesday night and received them Friday afternoon. The entire transaction only cost me $165. According to randyz91's above post the product seems solid, and I can tell you they look practically new. There is definately no arguing that the customer service simply can't be beat. When I get my engine back in and have a chance to see how well they function, I will post an update. -Ry
I got to add my 2 cents. South Bay seems to be taking credit for a modification that I looked at over a year and a half ago, here is the pic (look Familiar) there is a video that goes with it to. This was presented to me for advise since I work on only TPI, I am not trying to cause trouble but they defiantly were not the first to come up with this idea. The other pic is from TPIS on the right modification recommended by the manufacturer. d3fic22.jpg 65mmd3.jpg

Is there anywhere on their site that says they were the first ones to come up with this idea? I looked at the site and didn't see anything. While the modifications are definitely similar, I don't see why a company wouldn't try to sell the best product out there they could market, as long as they don't claim credit for it.
Just my .02....

SouthBay Fuel Injectors new "modified" version of the Bosch Design lll fuel injectors for GM/TPi rails. We have worked long and hard to end the problems of fitment and length when it comes to installation of the bosch lll's. No more orings, spacers, milling, and pounding with a hammer. This will put an end to all of the regarding fitment, these are "plug n "play!
We are the ONLY company with this adapter, WE developed it, WE designed it!!
These adapters will fit any size Bosch lll 19lb, 22lb, 24lb, 36lb,etc.
They have been tested on a TPi setup with pressures up to 80lb!
ANd what fuel pump on a tpi using a 22lb injector can run at 80psi
give me a break please!!
Irocuroc, do you and your "friend" FIC think that I was born yesterday!! You guys have been a thorn in my side for the past year!
Talk about something looking familiar? Please open the attachment and tell me whose name is on the side of the pictures, does FIC look familiar? He is relentless.
If these adapters/injectors were recommended to you by a "manufacturer" ...which "manufacturer" was it?? Why haven't you used it? It's a great idea afterall since he took it and ran with it!! Why haven't we seen one injector with these adapters on the bottom for the TPi's before? It works, it ends all problems with fitment...so am i missing something? You can rest assured that if these adapters were available over a year ago don't you think that "FIC" would have been all over it instead of lieing to everyone?
Saying that he was the ONLY company with the "MODIFICATION" that made his injectors "LONGER" than anyone elses? Give me a break!!!
That hoaky set up is spacers and orings,,, at least we were honest! We told everyone that all they needed was an additional oring, but NO....we caught hell for that one too! In addition we were the "first" ones to list the bosch lll's with the second oring a couple of years ago on ebay, and Mr. Banner proceeded to tell everyone that we were a bunch of "a-holes", well I guess it was a great idea wasn't it? So lets not talk about "taking credit" for things.
By the way, you can also tell your "manufacturer" that the oring on the bottom of the adapter will not fit into the manifold,,it is too big, that is why we had our orings custom made!
Oh, and irocuroc, the injectors were tested at 80psi on our machine!! So you give ME a break!
To the rest of the members of this forum, thank you for your support and please accept our apology. This thread has gotten totally off topic. The last thing that i wanted to do is discuss FIC again, i am just not putting up with his anymore!

lets just set the record straight. I am a mechanic and have been forever, I am a TPI specialist and FIC and I do business. The email I posted is one I got over a year ago to test this adapter. I liked the additional o-ring much better. What do you think the grove on the bottom of the Bosch 3 is for anyway. . But, I don't know what you are talking about a manufacturer. But the detailed diagram showing the seat o ring is from TPIS a manifold manufacturer. That is how they recommend to do it. And FIC doesn't even know I am posting on here, he is too busy to be bothered, so I do it because I like them. They offer a great product, just ask anyone who has delt with them. And the factory o ring does fit, maybe you didn't figure it out since it fits on the injector. The reason we don't use it is because when you put the o ring on the injector in the groove provided by Bosch it fits like a glove. And ya know what? If one goes bad you can change them without removal of the plenum. I put a set with those adapters in a car, and so did a guy in sweeden. I was not impressed and I told Jon. Believe me I have put in over 150 Bosch 3's and they work fine. Just go to the C4 forum and see how his customers think about them there. I also have a video from john showing how these work and how he made them. It was taken sometime in early 08 I just uploaded it like yesterday to u tube to post it but i cant figure out how. Maybe I will post the link and then you can tell me that the adapter didn't fit. I really don't know why you keep knocking the competition, no one knocks you. Its just that everything you do is great and you twist what everyone else does to suit yourself. These cars are our passion here, your passion is selling injectors. Have you ever posted offering anyone anything as far as help with a problem? Every post you ever made is to try to sell something. Also you did this to yourself. I get mad when you highjack threads. If a member starts a thread on FIC and gives praise you jump right in and highjack it trying to sell your stuff.
and one more thing i posted a screenshot of an e mail with two attachments that jon sent me in march 08 you croped the email part off and posted just the thumbs to make yourself look good.. please post my jpeg as it was
Southbay,i don't think irocuroc is FIC's friend or something,he is making some valid points,i have been following any brand injector's thread because i like to learn and try different set ups on my cars, just to play and to finally stay which the ones i feel better.
I have dealt with FIC in the,YES,i cant deny it,but im very grateful at them,he has developed a huge following on Corvetteforum.com and his feedback was not overnight,he has excellent service and there are hundred of members with FIC's original mod,go to Corvetteforum and do a search,no one ever complains ! i have a question,if i pull the injector from the manifold, what happens with the bottom oring ? From what i see there is no flange to hold the oring to the adapter ....let me know
thanks

I just want to point out that SouthBay is a paid sponsor on this website. They pay to advertise in order to promote their products on this website. Therefore, they are allowed to post in such threads to promote their products when the topic is relevant.
Please keep this civil, as this thread started out with a positive review of SouthBay. I think some valid questions were raised, which is why I'm not (yet) locking this thread so that some questions raised can be answered for both parties.
Thanks.

First off the only time i jump into "FIC" threads is when my company name is mentioned. Bashing competition you must be kidding me! Why don't you take a look at most of the posts on this forum! I have said nothing but good things about that company. No kidding that the oring fits on the injector, i told you ,we have sold them the same way. The injector with the adapter and manufacturer oring will not fit into the manifold. If you do not like them, then don't buy them!
Look... i did not think that this forum was set up for fighting matches, the rest of the members do not need to deal with this SH_T. You like Banner, then thats fine, I could really care less, no one is asking you for anything. I am asking you to back off!

Hi Calderone, whether he has valid points or not, there is a "human" way to discuss them. We are open to all positive or negative feedback on these things but i am not going to tolerate what goes on here. We learn from you guys. We made these things because we were watching and listening. So we came up with this idea to make life easier for alot of people. We thought that is was a new and innovative idea.
I have NEVER said anything negative about FIC and I do know that he has a large following, but you know what, there are other people who have similar products that they sell along with the hundreds of other companies out there. We were selling the same mod. and when we explained to everyone that ours just had an additional oring we got pummeled by certain members of this forum. He wants to have his following..that's great... he should, but when other companies are trying to build a name and a reputation just the way FIC did then I am sorry, then people need to back off and stop being so damn nasty. Not everyone is going to like this mod, but that is ok too, there are people who will. To repeat myself once again, we haven't had any problems or any complaints. When we first posted the pics, you thought it was a great idea!
Answering your question about the oring, there is a groove in the adapter, just like the groove on the injector itself.

THATS FINE and when John sees this hes going to be mad at me, I keep telling him to be a sponsor on here but, for some reason he won't, hes is always on the vette forum and helps out in all threads even air cond. So he is a good guy. Its just to call something hoaky that works well is not so nice. There has never been a complaint about the fitment of the bosch 3 with the bottom ring, there are guuys also selling them without any mod. That is dangerous. Here is the thread you highjacked http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/af...ction-com.html (fuel injectors from fuelinjectorconnection.com, great product)
i just loaded the video watch it. it is informative and it shows the different mods. the 3rd o ring is fine. Let me ask southbay 1 more question.. isnt there an oring under that adapter that seals the vac.. then another o ring outside. So you are using 3 o rings too. If these are special where would someone get one lets say in iowa if the ones need replacing? With the o ring mod you can get them at any store since they are standard.
heres the video i hope it works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG2794S_Ppc

why don't you look again? A member was nice enough to mention that we were a sponsor of this forum, then another member said that he never heard of southbay, so at that point I added a post. That is not highjacking!!!!!
For your information, i gave my word that i would not become a member of the corvette forum out of respect for FIC and he knows that, so why do we have to continue with this cut throat "bull"?
We sold ours with 2 orings, ours were just applied a little differently,, but they worked just fine. The answer to your question is NO. We do not have"3" orings, the only oring on the bottom of that adapter is the one that you see. We did not need any other orings, because we tested it and retested it to make sure the design did not cause any vac. leaks. We sell these injectors either with the added orings or the adapters, it is up to the consumer as to which ones they want.
By the way, what store in Iowa carry Viton orings? Sorry the link to you tube does not work, besides i have seen it already, and once again we have sold ours the same way and they too had a perfect fit. No problems...EVER.
In closing once and for all, we are here for the members and will be here to help them in any way we can. IDO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT FIC ANYMORE!!!!!!!
That is not what we are all here for!!

you wont answer my question thats fine the iowa thing was heresay just to find out what would happen if someone has your part and the manifold had to come off. now they tear an o ring. where can they get a replacement, i think its a good question. I am trying to be civil but, this is why i get pissed. You can't be reasonable, you run away. You highjacked that as far as i;m concerned, maybe i'm wrong ok I'm wrong you did nothing wrong. Ok now answer my question. This has nothing to do with FIC and you never saw this video because its been on my computer for 1.5 yrs and came direct from e mail. So be sarcastic. But, for the sake of my fellow enthusiasts tell us where we can get replacement parts if we need to, thats a legit question
forgot to say, since you promised not to be a sponcer on corvette, now I see why he won't sign up here now.. I guess theres honor on both sides. Now i'm on my own and would like my questions answered
Yes it is a good question and i am not being sarcastic! The answer is very simple, if they tear an oring they should contact us and we will be more than happy to supply them... at no charge just the way you would with any other part that didn't work properly or was damaged. You would contact the company that you purchased from. Every injector and every part that we sell comes with a 3 year warranty.

I guess you have never had a car apart on a sat or sunday.. I can go to NAPA or Autozone and find anything i need in the mechanical side, maybe door locks or something like that i have to go to the dealer, but if I need a injector o ring I really don't want to wait for you to send them free. I think its reasonable that if you supply a fuel injector that i should be able to get one with out you. Now your old style mod means i can go anywhere get a Bosch 3 put some o rings on and I can be on the road. Does that sound logical
First off Jon at FIC sent me Bosch III injectors last year.
The ones wich have the o-ring on the slot that bosch put there, its one of the best injectors I ever used. Jon solved all my problems, ( I have testeed several types and brands of injectors, these from Jon at FIC gave the best result! )
I would buy the one from FIC (with o-ring on the slot) anyday.
I have many friends that bought them to and they fit right in , perfect seal. and really good milage, throttleresponse, I have talked to 30+ guys that bought Bosch III from FIC and they are so happy, some of them also tried different mods and injectors with bad results, so as I said I would not buy any other injectors and those Bosch III from FIC..
And the best part is that they also have 3 years warranty :-)
So go with the Bosch III from FIC instead. Much better.
Heres a pic, showing Jon's Bosch III (to the right) with the o-ring in the slot from Bosch, its the same height as the stock multec..
REALLY!?!?!?!?!? Is this for F****** REAL? JT, just lock it, I can't even believe what I just came back on here and read. Irocuroc, thank YOU for hijacking MY thread. TheKing, thank YOU for fanning the fire. Southbay08, I'm sorry about the behavior of the members of this forum and a little embarassed to be a part of it. I done with this sh**.
