I was wondering about the quality of this store. It has a few parts I need but I'm worried I'd order parts and never get them.

Re: Youngs F-Body
yeah, i've heard some rumors about youngmotorsports/fbodymotorsports that they aren't are reliable as some might hope. I'm looking for 1991-1992 Firebird Trans-Am front fender ground effects. I've checked the sites you mentioned but they weren't any help after contacting them. Does anyone know where I could find one? It's the final piece in my car restoration.

Have you checked ebay? I've been able to find some rather hard to find items for my own car there in the past...

Re: Youngs F-Body
There was someone here on TGO that was fabricating them from sheet metal. For the life of me I can't remember his screen name right now, but it's the same guy that made the Japanese heat extractor hood to fit the Firebird. As Goose mentioned, eBay is another option for find those parts.

I've checked into ebay. That part is rare to begin with and the one time I have seen it, it got bought out from under me.
If you could remember that guys screen name that would an awesome alternative.

I've been waiting over 3 weeks for a return phone call from Young's. No return E-mail, no return call, no body ever answers the phone, and the phone # on their order confirmation e-mail has been disconnected....

Re: Youngs F-Body
Talked to Young's F-body on the phone today (2/15/10). Was told that they were in the middle of changing facilities and were short-staffed. Sounds to me like they might be having financial difficulties. Was also told that my part was on back order. Hadn't been notified of that, but he hadn't taken my money yet, but they had all my info and I had a confirmation E-mail. I'm going to give them till next week and then cancel if I haven't seen anything.

Re: Youngs F-Body
yeah, from what I've heard, these guys don't have the reputation as, lets say, hawks thirdgen. I've called them multiple times and sent a ton of emails but no response. I wouldn't really trust them delivering the product after i paid them.

Re: Youngs F-Body
I bought a new coolant overflow tank from them and a washer fluid tank. The product was great. However it took about a month for me to get them, and I paid thirty dollars in shipping for what would have cost the average consumer (and been even cheaper for a business) $6.

Classic is good, but they tend to be a little higher for some stuff. I use Hawks or Third Gen Ranch and am quite happy with both.

I ordered it a month ago and after several emails and phone callls they dont even have it in stock so i dont know if they are a middle man and order from distribitor but do not order from these guys i looked them up and they are on the better buisness bearua top ten worst buisnesses of 2009 if that dont tell you anything then i dont know what will and this was all on my stupidity i didint research them first.

Re: Youngs F-Body
I physically went to Youngs Fbody today in Charlotte, NC. What a waste of time. I am just telling you my experience, but I got there, and was told by some guy who worked there named "Mike" that they don't have ANY engine parts, don't do ANY mechanical work anymore, and that he could not help me. Basically, the guy had a very bad attitude, and it was clear to me that he had zero interest in selling me anything. Hell, I went there ready to buy a bunch of parts. Based on their website, it SOUNDS like they have a ton of stuff in stock, and that they do a lot of engine work. This is NOT the case. There was an elderly woman there who claimed to be the owner's wife. I told her that the website says that they have all of these engine and engine parts in stock, and that they do mechanical work. She seemed to not care at all. "Oh, I guess our website needs to be updated." I will never go back, and I will never buy anything from them. I am just giving you my honest opinion and experience. I would stay CLEAR of this place.

I did the same thing, thinking maybe they just didn't have enough help. They had zero interest in selling me parts. I don't know why they even bother staying in business.
